7 New AEW Signings

With AEW continuing to heat up ahead of WrestleDream on October 18, it could be a great time for Tony Khan to roll out another new signing following Andrade El Idolo’s return to the company last week.

From recently departed WWE stars that could be making their way to AEW very soon, to others that have appeared in the past – there are a variety of intriguing talents able to be signed.

Here are seven new potential AEW signings that could debut soon.

7. Santos Escobar

After reports that Santos Escobar’s days with WWE were numbered yesterday, it seems fans have their answer already today.

Having been moved to the alumni section of the WWE website, Santos Escobar’s departure has now been confirmed.

Opening up the exciting prospect that he could immediately appear in AEW – there could be a surprise coming sooner rather than later.

With RUSH teasing on social media that it was time for his LFI faction to expand, perhaps Santos Escobar could make his AEW debut ASAP.

6. Wayne & Wyatt Rhodes

While the duo have featured on AEW and ROH in the past, they are not officially signed with Tony Khan’s company.

Potentially being able to further their on-screen affiliation with real-life uncle Dustin Rhodes when the legend returns to TV in the future, there could also be an entirely different track for the pair.

Appearing on-screen in the past with the Von Erichs (brothers Marshall and Ross Von Erich), perhaps the duo could unite with Marshall and Ross to seek vengeance on Sammy Guevara.

Guevara turned heel back in late August, casting aside his former friendship with the Von Erichs and joining the Los Faccion Ingobernables.

5. Dakota Kai

With Mercedes Mone issuing an open challenge for her AEW TBS Championship on the special edition of Dynamite, perhaps a familiar face could answer the call in Dakota Kai.

While Kai has not returned to in-ring competition since departing WWE, she has recently noted that she was missing wrestling and didn’t plan on retiring just yet.

In an alternate reason for appearing, Kai could not be taking on Mone at all but rather forming a tag team with her in pursuit of the newly announced AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Mone desiring to capture gold, coupled with Kai’s long history with tag team excellence so far in her career – the duo could make the perfect pair in AEW.

4. Shotzi Blackheart

Former WWE star Shotzi

Since there is an upcoming open challenge being issued by Mercedes Mone for the special Title Tuesday edition of AEW Dynamite, it could be Shotzi Blackheart who answers the challenge.

Since departing WWE the star has taken her in-ring talents to the indies where she has already made a big impact in GCW, MLW and others.

Being an iconic AEW debut next, Blackheart could be a great surprise opponent for Mercedes Mone without necessarily committing to becoming All Elite on a full-time basis.

While it could lead to more appearances from Shotzi in the future, one-off appearances in AEW can also be a great deal of fun.

3. Karrion Kross & Scarlett

Another one-off appearance that could occur now in AEW but later come back around in a different way could be Karrion Kross & Scarlett.

With Kross possibly able to team up with Darby Allin on-screen, Kross would have an important opportunity to make a name for himself with the AEW audience in the absence of other top fan favorites such as Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay.

While Kross has noted that he and Scarlett are not planning on signing with AEW at the minute as they continue their forays around the indie scene – there could be a unique moment to make his presence known.

Recently commenting about the prospect of signing with AEW, Kross noted that while he continues to have things going elsewhere in wrestling – when he and Scarlett do commit to a company, they plan on being all in.

2. Cedric Alexander

Former WWE star Cedric Alexander

In what could prove to be an exciting reunion of a fan favorite WWE stable in AEW, Cedric Alexander could be All Elite in the future.

It was recently reported by Fightful Select that Alexander’s TNA contract is a short-term deal that is set to be up around the time of TNA Bound for Glory on October 12.

The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and MVP) seem in need of a new member to combat Ricochet’s The Demand group, and Alexander would make the perfect addition given his past affiliation with the group in WWE.

While this week’s Dynamite may come too soon, perhaps we will see Alexander debut in the company before or at WrestleDream?

One amazing signing for AEW could come from the UK indie scene in fan favorite Michael Oku.

Having appeared for AEW in the past, fans could be closer than ever to seeing the British star getting officially signed to All Elite Wrestling.

Michael Oku most recently appeared in AEW at AEW Forbidden Door 2025 where he teamed with Kevin Knight and Speedball Mike Bailey’s JetSpeed tag team to take on Ricochet and the Gates of Agony.

Potentially also bringing along his real life partner Amira Blair to AEW alongside him, the pair could end up becoming one of AEW’s most notable power couples.
