7 Changes To WWE Raw For Season Premiere

WWE Raw is set to air it’s annual ‘season premiere’ for tonight’s episode of the show in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

With the season premiere taking place, as well as a move to Netflix in January, a number of changes could be in store for the red brand for the final months of 2024.

Here are 7 potential changes coming to WWE Raw for the season premiere.

7) Natalya Returning To WWE Raw

The Pure Fusion Collective have become a bit of a nuisance on Raw since they formed on the show a number of weeks ago.

While their win/loss record makes it hard to truly call them a ‘threat’, the group have been causing terror for almost all the women on Raw, most recently Zelina Vega and Lyra Valkyria.

On last week’s show, Lyra heavily teased that Natalya, who recently signed a new contract with WWE, would be their partner against the group, noting that they were ‘in Calgary’.

Nattie is a veteran and much needed depth for the division heading into the season premiere.

6) New Theme Song

One part of WWE Raw’s presentation that tends to change fairly regularly is the show’s theme song.

Raw currently uses def rebel’s ‘Born To Be’ as it’s theme song, which fans have had a mixed reception to ever since it debuted.

Moving into the season premiere and the Netflix era feels like as good a time as any to change it up, and bring a new feeling of hype to the show.

Hopefully it’s an actual licenced song, as those always tend to be better received.

5) Women’s Intercontinental Championship

There has been talk about the possibility of WWE introducing new Women’s Midcard Championships for a while now.

The Women’s Tag Team Championship have yet to really find their feet in the company, and there are far more women’s singles stars that could use a title to fight for than duos right now.

Names like Zelina Vega, Lyra Valkyria, Kairi Sane, Natalya and Shayna Baszler could all be in line for title runs if a midcard title was brought in to give them something to fight for.

As it stands right now, most of Raw’s women’s division outside of the top title is very bare bones.

4) Awesome Truth Breaking Up

Karrion Kross was seemingly unsuccessful in his attempts to break up the New Day during his recent rivalry, but he may find more luck with Awesome Truth.

Miz and R-Truth reunited at the beginning of the year, and went on to capture the Raw Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 40, but since then, they’ve sort of just been floating around.

Miz is always at his best as a bad guy, so it shouldn’t be too hard for Karrion to manipulate him to return to the dark side and betray his friend.

A feud between the two is something that doesn’t really sound too exciting though.

3) Jey Uso & Sami Zayn To Leave WWE Raw

The Bloodline story will be the focal point of the SmackDown brand for the remainder of 2024. I know, stop me if you’ve heard that one before.

However, as it currently stands, two of the major players in the story, Jey Uso and to a lesser extent Sami Zayn, are both on the Raw roster.

With Jey seemingly likely to challenge Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship, and Sami Zayn seemingly set to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship, the two are more than likely about to come up short in yet another big match.

Once that happens, there’ll be seemingly nowhere to turn but to SmackDown.

2) The Lucha Bros To Debut On WWE Raw

Former AEW World Tag Team Champions Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Mideo are seemingly on their way out of the company, with the belief being that the Lucha Bros are set to join WWE.

After news of their potential move to WWE came to light, it was also reported that the pair were looking to debut straight on WWE’s main roster as opposed to going through NXT.

Raw’s tag team division could use a shot in the arm right now, more so than even SmackDown’s, so the brothers landing on the red brand would do just that.

Matches against the Creed Brothers, Judgment Day, New Day and the LWO would be a nice core to build a division around.

1) The Rock Returning To WWE Raw

WWE star The Rock

The Rock has not appeared on WWE television since the night after WrestleMania 40, where he told Cody Rhodes that their story is only just getting started.

While Cody and the rest of the Bloodline are currently on SmackDown, Raw moving to Netflix feels like the right place for the Final Boss to re-emerge, if even for one night only.

He was very much doing his own thing last time he was around, with him specifically being referenced as someone who was cursing on TV and had less censorship than everyone else.

Him appearing in time for the move to Netflix, where he can drop as many f-bombs as he wants, feels too much of a given to not do.
