There are just days remaining ahead of the AEW Redemption 2026 pay-per-view on July 26 from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The card has taken shape and already announced eight matches for the main show, which means that certain stars will not have a spot.
From current and former champions to top stars, AEW Redemption will be missing some of the most noteworthy names on the roster today.
Here are seven AEW stars to potentially miss Redemption 2026.
7. Konosuke Takeshita
On the July 8 Beach Break special of AEW Dynamite, Kyle Fletcher defeated Konosuke Takeshita to win the AEW International Championship.
This marked the end of Takeshita’s second reign as the International Champion and opened him up to head to Japan for the G1 Climax 36 tournament.
“The Alpha” did show up on the July 15 edition of AEW Dynamite, but he is now back with New Japan Pro Wrestling for the premier tournament.
Despite his surprise appearance last week, fans should not expect Takeshita to have a match scheduled for the AEW Redemption 2026 pay-per-view.
6. Kazuchika Okada
At AEW Double Or Nothing 2026, Konosuke Takeshita defeated Kazuchika Okada to win the AEW International Championship.
Since this loss, Okada has only competed in two matches with one being a 12-Man Tag on AEW Dynamite and the Death’s Door Match at Forbidden Door 2026.
“The Rainmaker” remains as one of the biggest stars on the AEW roster and usually gets featured on the PPV cards.
However, it seems like Okada will be on the outside looking in on the upcoming AEW Redemption 2026 show from Montreal.
5. Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne & Lena Kross)
Divine Dominion have had a presence on the past few pay-per-views, featuring on the Zero Hour pre-show.
Recently, Megan Bayne and Lena Kross formed an alliance with Mercedes Moné and started a rivalry with Sisters of Sin.
After winning the Artist of Stardom Championship in Japan with Thekla, Skye Blue and Julia Hart issued a challenge to Divine Dominion to face them in a No DQ Match for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Titles on the July 22 episode of Dynamite.
Since this bout was announced for the go-home Dynamite ahead of AEW Redemption 2026, this means Divine Dominion could miss the upcoming PPV from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.
4. FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler)
At the AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage defeated FTR in an I Quit Match to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
Since losing the gold, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have not been featured on AEW television. Following questions about their absence, Wheeler confirmed that he and Harwood were on a hiatus with their future in All Elite Wrestling in question.
Considering how often they have worked over the past few years, it feels like FTR are more than deserving of a break from the road and the ring.
FTR missing AEW Redemption 2026 could be better long term and open up the opportunity for the former AEW World Tag Team Champions to return on the road to All In London.
3. Speedball Mike Bailey
Since the start of the company, All Elite Wrestling has always done a great job of featuring local talent on their roster in their home markets.
With AEW Redemption 2026 set for Montreal, many fans believed Speedball Mike Bailey would have a spot on the card.
Bailey is clearly one of the best in-ring performers in the company and someone who is valued for his in-ring prowess.
Despite being a Montreal native, it seems like Speedball will miss out on the huge card and disappoint some fans in attendance at AEW Redemption 2026.
2. Mercedes Moné
At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026, Mercedes Moné defeated Maya World to win the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Finals.
Thanks to this win, ‘The CEO’ will now go on to challenge for the AEW Women’s World Championship at the All In London 2026 pay-per-view.
Since her spot is secured for AEW All In London 2026, it does not seem necessary for Moné to be part of the Redemption card on July 26.
Considering the importance of the bout, the most fans might see of Mercedes on this Redemption 2026 show is having Moné at ringside for the Thekla vs. Willow Nightingale AEW Women’s World Championship match at Redemption.
1. Darby Allin
2026 has been a career year for Darby Allin after winning the AEW World Title for the first time.
Following his loss of the gold, Allin has been focused on the man who attacked him after his bout with MJF at AEW Double Or Nothing 2026, Kevin Knight.
‘The Jet’ will defend his TNT Title against Darby Allin on the July 22 episode of AEW Dynamite.
While he could win the TNT Championship, it does not seem like Darby will be part of the AEW Redemption 2026 card despite his top star status at this time.
