There is well over a month away until the WWE SummerSlam 2026 premium live event on August 1 and 2 from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Looking at the current landscape for WWE, there are several champions who could be dethroned over the coming weeks.

From longtime champions losing their gold to a sudden title switch, these title changes will drastically alter the championship picture across Raw and SmackDown.

Here are six potential WWE title changes before SummerSlam 2026.

6. Jade Cargill Beats Tiffany Stratton For WWE Women’s United States Championship

Over the past few weeks, Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill have rekindled their rivalry from last year.

While neither are the WWE Women’s Champion, Stratton is the current Women’s United States Champion and it seems like Cargill wants the gold.

In less than three years with WWE, Cargill is a former WWE Women’s Champion, Queen of the Ring winner and two-time Women’s Tag Team Champion.

Looking to add another title to her resume, Cargill could be next in line to hold the WWE Women’s United States Champion by taking Stratton out of the picture.

5. Fatal Influence Defeat Paige & Brie Bella To Win WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships

On the June 12 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Paige and Brie Bella defeated Fatal Influence in a non-title match.

Since winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 42, Paige and Brie have not backed down from any challengers.

Meanwhile, Fatal Influence have been running roughshod all over Friday Night SmackDown since their main roster call-up.

Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid have what it takes to defeat Paige and Brie to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships ahead of SummerSlam 2026.

4. Street Profits Overcomes The Vision To Capture WWE World Tag Team Titles

Speaking of tag team titles, The Vision have been dealing with Street Profits coming after their World Tag Team Championships.

At the May 23 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, The Vision’s Logan Paul and Austin Theory defeated Street Profits to retain the titles.

During the course of the contest, Paul suffered a torn triceps that has sidelined him. This led to Theory taking out Angelo Dawkins with a steel chair attack.

Now that Dawkins is back, it feels like everything is in place for Street Profits to capture the WWE World Tag Team Titles from The Vision on the June 22 episode of Monday Night Raw.

3. Chad Gable Takes WWE Intercontinental Championship From Penta

At AAA Noche de Los Grandes 2026, El Grande Americano defeated The Original El Grande Americano in a Mask vs. Mask Match.

Post match, The Original El Grande unmasked to be revealed as Chad Gable. This has led to Gable returning to WWE TV and looking to reestablish himself in the company.

After making amends to all of the luchadors, there might not be anything standing in Gable’s way from winning the first singles title of his wrestling career.

Gable dethroning Penta to win the IC Title would be fitting and give a logical conclusion to his redemption arc in recent weeks.

2. Charlotte Flair Wins WWE Women’s Championship

At WWE Clash In Italy 2026, Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to retain the WWE Women’s Championship.

During the course of this match, Ripley suffered an apparent knee injury that has had her sidelined over the past few weeks.

This could lead to the WWE Women’s Championship becoming vacant and leading to everyone coming for the gold.

Charlotte Flair feels like a top contender who could add her 15th world title reign to her credentials before the WWE SummerSlam 2026 event.

1. GUNTHER Dethrones Cody Rhodes For Undisputed WWE Championship

Following WrestleMania 42, GUNTHER has had his sights set on Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship.

At WWE Clash In Italy 2026, Rhodes defeated GUNTHER to retain the title. However, this finish was filled with controversy as GUNTHER’s foot was under the ropes for the winning pinfall.

Now that he is scheduled to face “The American Nightmare” in a rematch, GUNTHER feels like an odds-on favorite to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Whether it be on the June 19 SmackDown or at Night of Champions 2026, “The Ring General” could be on his way to holding the WWE Champion on SmackDown moving forward.
