After John Cena beat Cody Rhodes at WWE WrestleMania 41, he has vowed to ‘ruin professional wrestling’ before he retires.
Perhaps the best course of action to try to take out the self-proclaimed Last Real Champion would be to assemble his own squad of avengers in an attempt to save professional wrestling.
Here are six WWE stars that could join a new Cody Rhodes led faction.
6. Randy Orton
Perhaps the most logical ally for Cody Rhodes would be Randy Orton.
With an established fondness for one another, they’re further bonded by now their mutual rivalries with John Cena.
Having past experience together in a faction where Orton was the veteran and Rhodes was the rookie, a new alliance would open a lot of compelling doors now that roles have changed.
Randy Orton is reaching the point in his career that the Legend Killer is now a legend – Rhodes is a veteran and presumably the group would contain younger stars.

5. Bad Bunny
Before there was Logan Paul, there was another celebrity guest who displayed uncanny natural in-ring ability in their first few outings – Bad Bunny.
Making his last in-ring appearance to a thunderous crowd reaction in his home country of Puerto Rico at Backlash 2023, Bad Bunny could be headed back into a WWE ring.
A fan favorite, the partnership of Bad Bunny and Cody Rhodes would work really well and be a fun surprise.
With a recent report suggesting that Bad Bunny could be making a big return to WWE to team with Cody Rhodes to take on Travis Scott and John Cena – this pairing may actually come to fruition.

4. Ricky Saints
With their friendship already having been acknowledged on WWE TV, one totally logical choice would be Ricky Saints.
Immediately launching into the ranks with the other top talent in NXT, Ricky Saints has made a big debut in WWE and seems poised to join the main roster.
While Ricky Saints currently holds the NXT North American Championship, he has an upcoming match against Lexis King for the title that certainly seems to be a potential pivoting point.
Saints could absolutely drop the title to King and go on to be called up and align with the former Undisputed WWE Champion.

3. Texas Outlaws (Wayne & Wyatt Rhodes)
Ahead of his decision to reject The Rock’s request for his soul, Cody actually mentioned the pair noting that he has “nephews” that are also trying to make careers in the industry.
Those nephews are Wayne and Wyatt Rhodes which carry the team name, the Texas Outlaws.
Wayne and Wyatt could make their debuts as Cody’s Texas-sized security detail to round out a faction of veterans singles stars with a brand new tag team.
The duo are still thought to be free agents despite having competed in two dark matches for Tony Khan owned companies, one ahead of AEW Collision in Arlington and another ROH dark match in Cedar Park, TX.

2. Trick Williams
Cody Rhodes and Trick Williams have a history of interacting on NXT that would make their alliance totally work.
With Trick now seemingly ‘crashing out’ on NXT – he certainly seems to be heading to the main roster.
Being able to funnel his frustration, an anger fueled version of Trick Williams may be exactly what Cody Rhodes needs in his faction.
After demonstrating at WrestleMania 41 that he had upstanding morals himself – he could use to surround himself an edgier group.

1. CM Punk
As the adage goes: “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” – a dynamic that would certainly apply to an alliance between Cody Rhodes and CM Punk.
After Punk got robbed by Cena in the closing moments of the Elimination Chamber, he cut a vicious promo on both John Cena and The Rock in his next live mic moment on WWE Raw.
While there hasn’t been any official interaction between CM Punk and The Rock, there is certainly a long history between the pair as well.
If Cody Rhodes was looking for an ally who could stand tall against John Cena – he would be wise to choose Punk.
