With AEW looking ahead to the next big pay-per-view event, AEW Full Gear 2025 on November 22, there could be surprises coming soon.
From returning stars to a potential big name signing — there could be a number of intriguing surprises at the event.
Here are six surprises that could happen at AEW Full Gear 2025.
6. Jay White Returns

A top star that could be returning to AEW in the near future is the leader of the Bang Bang Gang, Switchblade Jay White.
While White has been out of action for seven months due to injury, he also remained silent on Twitter during that time. Intriguingly he made a return on October 16 to post the simple message: “Ready?”
Potentially marking a return on the horizon it could make sense to see the New Zealand native make his return to AEW sooner rather than later.
Able to reunite on screen with Juice Robinson and Austin Gunn and although Colten Gunn remains out of action due to injury, the Bang Bang Gang could ride again.

5. Adam Copeland Returns

While there has been a bit of a flurry of rumor surrounding Adam Copeland’s recent TV exit, it is in fact not at all related to a return to WWE.
Copeland has resumed filming on his Disney+ series Percy Jackson & the Olympians where he stars as Ares, the God of War.
Possibly set to pop back up by the time AEW Full Gear rolls into New Jersey’s Prudential Center on Saturday November 22, Copeland could surprise the dastardly FTR who he still owes a receipt.
After FTR delivered a spike piledriver to Copeland’s wife, WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix, it seems that revenge will certainly be on the mind of Cope upon his return to AEW.

4. New Mystery Woman Appears

While former AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. hasn’t appeared on AEW TV since November 2024, Tony Khan recently confirmed Baker’s status with the company.
Responding that despite having “been away from AEW for awhile,” she was “still very much with us” and added that he hoped she would return soon.
With professional wrestling fans loving a whodunit mystery, it could be that Britt Baker will end up making a surprise return to cause chaos before she is revealed.
With other potentials that could sub-in for the reveal who haven’t been seen in AEW for awhile such as Kamille, Deonna Purrazzo or Taya Valkyrie — there are other options as well if Baker is unavailable.

3. Hikaru Shida Returns

One AEW fan favorite that has been absent from AEW for all of 2025 so far is former AEW Women’s World Champion, Hikaru Shida.
Possibly making a return at AEW Full Gear 2025, Shida could end up being the deciding factor in the title match already set for the event.
AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone has challenged AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander to a match for the top title in the company for Full Gear and Stat accepted.
Potentially rejoining the AEW women’s division title picture, it could be that Hikaru Shida seeks to make history joining Toni Storm as a 4x AEW Women’s World Champion.

2. MJF Interrupts AEW World Championship Match

While MJF could potentially come back to AEW in advance of Full Gear 2025, it could be fun to reserve his return for the big event.
Potentially returning to target Hangman Adam Page yet again for the AEW World Championship, he could end up being an influential part of the match.
Since Page is seemingly not through with his feud with Samoa Joe and The Opps — it will be intriguing to see who is next up to challenge Hangman.
With Full Gear set to mark the beginning of the end of the year, it could be that there is a title change coming at AEW Worlds End.

1. Chris Jericho Re-Signs With AEW

While Tony Khan spoke highly of Chris Jericho when asked about the veteran star’s absence, he also revealed that he suspected more would become clear with Jericho in the coming months.
Although his comments could sound as though he’s aware Jericho’s time in AEW was coming to an end, he also could be aware of a surprise reveal soon to come.
If Chris Jericho was to return at Full Gear 2025 after months of speculation about his potential departure from AEW, it could be a major moment.
An opportunity for yet another re-birth of Chris Jericho in AEW, while his return to the company seems a bit improbable — it remains possible.
