With the free agent market in pro-wrestling as vast as ever, there are a few recognizable names that seem poised to be snapped up by WWE.
From returning stars to other notable names who could be defecting from AEW, there are some intriguing future possibilities.
Here are six potential new WWE signings.
6. Brie Bella
While Nikki Bella has made her on-screen return in WWE, the former Divas Champion promised that she was not simply there for a one-off appearance.
Alluding to more left to be done in the company – one major accomplishment never obtained by the Bella Twins are the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
While the titles were established while they were out of action, the duo were poised to make an in-ring return in the past that was then derailed by Nikki not being medically cleared to compete – but now she is!
With WWE planning to host the all female PLE Evolution 2 on July 13, it seems totally possible that it may be Brie Mode again soon!

5. Danhausen
Although he remains signed to AEW, Danhausen hasn’t been featured on TV in quite some time. Making one appearance in ROH in December 2024, he seen on the AEW Worlds End 2023 Zero Hour.
Recent news has revealed that Danhausen’s AEW contract will be up in July 2025 – making it seem totally possible the star will be back on TV soon but outside of a Tony Khan owned company.
Since the ‘Very Nice, Very Evil’ star is a noted a fan favorite – it would make complete sense for another promotion to be anxious to swoop him up.
While the recent fan delight for Mr. Iguana from AAA served as a proof of concept – WWE fans love fun and Danhausen could be their next new favorite character.

4. Private Party
After losing the AEW World Tag Team Championship to the Hurt Syndicate on the January 22, 2025 episode of AEW Dynamite, Private Party disappeared from AEW.
There have been recent reports that their contracts with the company could be up as soon as next month, their sudden absence now seems more ominous.
With further speculation that WWE is interested in signing the duo – Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen – it could end up being that fans won’t see the pair again until they make a debut elsewhere.
Seemingly a perfect fit for NXT, Private Party could quickly rise to the top of a fairly wide open tag team division at the minute.

3. Chris Jericho
As one of the initial signings announced during AEW’s formation, Chris Jericho has been staple of the brand.
However as of late the legend has found himself being rejected by the AEW fan base – so perhaps in effort to remind them of what they are missing, the Jericho character seemingly wrote himself off of TV.
Raging at his Learning Tree stable (Big Bill and Bryan Keith), Jericho announced his departure by battering his TV Time set while later noting he was not mad – just disappointed.
While very likely a storyline, the timing of Jericho’s disappearance from AEW is intriguing given that his contract is reportedly set to be up in December 2025. There are some incentives for Jericho to return to WWE but overall – we’ll have to stay tuned to see what the legendary star has up his sleeve next.

2. Britt Baker
While her status has not been publicly addressed by Tony Khan, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. remains missing in action from AEW.
Although previously being featured heavily in an on-screen role as well as a frequent ambassador for AEW through media appearances – Baker has largely disappeared since her last match in November 2023.
Since her current in-ring game is her actual one – perhaps the former AEW Women’s World Champion would benefit from a complete re-invention in WWE.
Should she want to continue her pro wrestling career after her contract with AEW is up – we could very well see the good doctor reunited with old pals Cody Rhodes and CM Punk in WWE.

1. Matt & Jeff Hardy
While there was on-going speculation that the duo of Matt and Jeff Hardy (the Hardy Boyz) could be making a main roster return to WWE – they ended up arriving first on NXT.
Competing in a series of matches against NXT stars (at the time) Nathan Frazer and Axiom, the pair of WWE legends may be poised for a WWE return sooner rather than later.
While their contracts with TNA Wrestling are reportedly set to end in November 2025 – they may find themselves in a SummerSlam battle after all.
With the New Day continuing to hold tag team title gold in WWE and the noted history that New Day and Hardy Boyz have never had an actual feud – perhaps the history making showdown is coming soon.
