After a landmark edition of AEW Dynamite at Arena Mexico on the road to AEW All In Texas, there could be new signings coming soon.

From CMLL stars who have been recently featured to former WWE stars that could be eligible to appear on TV soon – there are a few new signings that Tony Khan could consider.

Here are six possible new AEW signings.

6. Mascara Dorada

After a recent match in CMLL Martes Populares (CMLL’s Tuesday show) that was dubbed CMLL vs. AEW/ROH featuring ROH World Champion Bandido taking on Mascara Dorada, the star had an interesting post match thought.

He got on the microphone to compliment his opponent but also to note that he would talk to Tony Khan about Mascara Dorada needing to be in AEW.

While there hasn’t been an official signing revealed, it is clear Khan took note with Mascara Dorada appearing on the next night’s episode of AEW Dynamite in a losing effort in the “4 Million Pesos Four Way” match against Lio Rush, Ricochet and eventual winner, Hologram.

Certainly putting on a spectacular showing in the match against the other notable AEW stars, it could be that Mascara Dorada will be signed by AEW sooner rather than later.

5. Cedric Alexander

The most logical next signing for AEW would be Cedric Alexander.

With the rest of the WWE fan favorite stable to Hurt Business now in AEW as the Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin with MVP) – the missing element remains Cedric Alexander.

Still with a lot to contribute, the industry veteran could immediately join the company and fit right in with the top story being told.

Potentially even feuding with MJF over essentially replacing him in the group, the former WWE star would be a great signing for Tony Khan.

4. Braun Strowman

The Monster Among Men may seem like a bit of an outside the box signing for Tony Khan, but the star could fulfill an important vacancy in the current AEW roster.

Braun Strowman was able to demonstrate in WWE that crowds love him, kids love him and his character doesn’t need to be booked to always win to still be a formidable foe.

Being brought in specifically by Chris Jericho as an example of someone who would “fall in line” with Jericho’s tyrannical rule than his other Learning Tree faction members Big Bill and Bryan Keith could be an amusing touch for the sports entertainment themed group.

Able to make a big impact in a comedic way without saying a lot of line, an entirely unserious take on Braun Strowman’s character could be a really fun addition to AEW.

3. Beth Phoenix

Other than voicing the intro to the entrance music for real life husband Adam Copeland in AEW – Beth Pheonix hasn’t made any on-screen appearances in the company.

However it has been confirmed that the WWE Hall of Famer remains a free agent after having her WWE contract expire last July.

While she could sign with AEW as an in-ring performer, it might make even more sense to see the experienced backstage presence in another role in the company.

Able to add a unique and female voice to the AEW commentary team – even if only for limited matches similarly to Jim Ross – the Glamazon could definitely find a new home in AEW.

2. Mistico

Having appeared in AEW as well as ROH in the past, Mistico is well known to audiences both inside and outside of Mexico.

After a thunderous crowd reaction to his entrance at Arena Mexico for a match on AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan may consider signing Mistico to appear more often.

The CMLL star took on MJF at the event in a match that thrilled audiences and also cemented how the performer could easily fit into AEW on a more regular basis.

With great audience connection and being known for his thrilling in-ring performances, Mistico would be in great company where ‘the best wrestle’.

1. Dakota Kai

When Dakota Kai was one of the released names confirmed in early May 2025, some fans were outraged.

With some fans believing the New Zealand born star as never quite able to live up to her potential in WWE, fans immediately began hoping she would appear in AEW.

Able to easily join the current women’s roster and be able to shine, Dakota Kai could be a great signing for Tony Khan for either AEW or ROH.

Still with a lot of creativity inside and outside the ring to contribute, Kai seemingly still has a lot of potential left in her career.
