On May 23, WWE will present their latest Saturday Night’s Main Event from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Coming off WWE Backlash 2026 and being one week before Clash In Italy, this show will hold significance on which direction the company is heading towards.
From title bouts to grudge matches, the latest edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event might just be an entertaining night that could see championships changing hands and scores being settled.
Here are six potential matches to be added to WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
WWE Intercontinental Championship: Penta (c) vs. Ethan Page
On the April 20 WWE Raw After WrestleMania 42, Ethan Page made his main roster debut after spending two years on the NXT brand.
“All Ego” has had his sights set on capturing the WWE Intercontinental Championship as the first mission during this main roster run.
Recently, Page picked up a win over Je’Von Evans in singles action and pinned Penta in a tag team match.
Page challenging Penta for the IC Title would make for a potential showstealing bout on the May 23 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab
On the May 8 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Fatal Influence defeated Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair in trios action.
This victory came as a result of the returning Jade Cargill coming out to attack Ripley following her loss against “Mami” in their WWE Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania 42.
After the match, Cargill, Michin and B-Fab jumped Ripley, Bliss and Flair, sending a message that they planned to make an impact.
This could lead to a six-woman tag team match with Ripley, Flair and Bliss looking for revenge against Cargill, B-Fab and Michin on the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event card.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships: Paige & Brie Bella (c) vs. The Judgment Day (Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodriguez)
At WrestleMania 42 Night One, Paige made her return to the company to team with Brie Bella to defeat The Irresistible Forces, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair and Bayley and Lyra Valkyria to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
There has been no shortage of different pairings who have been looking to get their shot at the Women’s Tag Team Titles since Paige and Brie won the gold.
The Judgment Day’s Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez have been one of those duos who have called out the new champions and want them to come to the May 11 edition of Monday Night Raw.
Perez and Rodriguez challenging Paige and Brie would be an intriguing title clash for the lineup for the May 23 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
WWE Tag Team Championships: R-Truth & Damian Priest (c) vs. The MFTs (Solo Sikoa & Talla Tonga)
Over the past few weeks, The MFTs have been targeting R-Truth and Damian Priest for the WWE Tag Team Championships.
After attacking the champions the week prior, Talla Tonga defeated Priest in a singles match on the May 8 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
Truth and Priest have been fighting champions since capturing the gold a number of weeks ago.
Following this singles loss for Priest and the attacks over the past few weeks, it might be time for The MFTs to challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championships at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
AAA Mega Championship: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Finn Balor
At WWE WrestleMania 42 Night Two, “Demon” Finn Balor defeated Dominik Mysterio in a Street Fight.
Following Mania, Balor has still been embroiled in a feud with The Judgment Day that has seen him facing off with JD McDonagh over the past few weeks.
After trading victories with McDonagh, Balor may be in line to face Mysterio in a Mania rematch.
“Dirty Dom” putting his AAA Mega Championship on the line against Balor might make for an excellent addition to the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event card on May 23.
The Vision (Bron Breakker, Logan Paul & Austin Theory) vs. Seth Rollins & Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins)
At the WWE Backlash 2026 premium live event, Bron Breakker defeated Seth Rollins in what was the biggest win of his career.
Picking up a victory over his former Vision leader, Breakker will now look to help his current stablemates with their issues with Joe Hendry and The Street Profits on the May 11 edition of WWE Raw.
However, The Vision’s Breakker, Logan Paul and Austin Theory getting a win might lead to Rollins inserting himself in this rivalry.
Rollins teaming with Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins could make for a huge all-star six-man tag team match on the May 23 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event and help all three men try to take down The Vision.
