From something regarding Club WWE to the location of a future WrestleMania, there are some intriguing possibilities that can come from this appearance for Cena during Backlash 2026.

Ahead of the event, WWE could announce that Cena will be kicking off the live portion of the show that will take place on ESPN 2.

On the April 24 WWE SmackDown after WrestleMania 42, Fatal Influence made their official main roster debut by attacking Paige, Brie Bella, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.

Following this attack, Jacy Jayne went one-on-one with WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley. Just when Ripley was on her way to a win, Fatal Influence interfered to attack ‘Mami’ in a three-on-one assault.

Now, Fatal Influence are set to face Ripley, Flair and Bliss in a trios match on the May 8 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

With a win in this bout, it should lead to Jayne challenging Ripley for the WWE Women’s Championship being added to the WWE Backlash 2026 card.

4. Ethan Page Gets Intercontinental Championship Match Against Penta On The Show

Penta and Ethan Page met twice in multi-man matches during their time in AEW

On the April 20 WWE Raw after WrestleMania 42, Ethan Page made his main roster debut and went on to defeat Je’Von Evans in his first match on the red brand.

Since then, Page has also pinned WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta in a tag team match involving Rusev and Evans.

After this victory in tag team action, ‘All Ego’ may have now earned himself a shot at the IC Title.

In a last-minute change to the lineup, Page could challenge Penta for the gold at the WWE Backlash 2026 premium live event.

3. Asuka vs. IYO SKY Becomes A No DQ Match

Asuka misted IYO SKY on the Raw before WWE Backlash

Over the past few months, Asuka and IYO SKY have been embroiled in a feud following these former Damage CTRL stablemates having a falling out.

After returning to WWE in 2025, ‘The Empress of Tomorrow’ turned her back on SKY due to her jealousy of IYO’s success and her friendship with Rhea Ripley.

Things have gotten increasingly personal between the two, leading to a showdown between IYO and Asuka at WWE Backlash 2026.

Following Asuka spewing mist into her former friend’s eyes on the May 4 WWE Raw, it might lead to a No DQ stipulation being added to this grudge match with IYO on May 9.

2. Winner Of Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker Becomes The #1 Contender For The World Heavyweight Championship

Bron Breakker vs Seth Rollins was planned for WrestleMania 42 before being moved to Backlash

Following the betrayal that excommunicated him from the group he created, Seth Rollins will finally go one-on-one with Bron Breakker at WWE Backlash 2026.

At WrestleMania 42 night one, Breakker made his return to WWE by costing Rollins his match against GUNTHER.

Over the past few weeks, Breakker has gotten the better of Rollins time and time again with a series of attacks.

With both men trying to get their shot at the World Heavyweight Title, this should lead to the winner of Breakker vs. Rollins becoming the next number one contender for the gold in Tampa.

1. Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu Gets Bloodline Rules Stipulation

At WWE WrestleMania 42 night two, Roman Reigns defeated CM Punk to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

Then on the April 20 WWE Raw after WrestleMania 42, Jacob Fatu stepped up to challenge his cousin for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Backlash 2026.

‘The Samoan Werewolf’ feels more motivated than ever to beat ‘The OTC’ and get everything that comes with holding the richest prize on Monday Night Raw.

Considering their places as members of the Samoan family dynasty, Reigns vs. Fatu could get a Bloodline Rules stipulation in the main event of Backlash in Tampa, Florida.
