Fans of WWE NXT are set to see some significant changes throughout the brand coming off the heels of No Mercy.
After championship gold changed hands and scores were settled, it seems like there are going to be some things that look considerably different on the NXT brand in the weeks and months to come.
The September 30 episode of WWE NXT will be the first week back following No Mercy and could paint the picture for what the audience has to look forward to on the brand.
Here are six potential changes to WWE NXT.
6. Lainey Reid Joins Fatal Influence

Ahead of WWE NXT No Mercy, fans saw Lainey Reid interacting with Jacy Jayne and Fatal Influence more and more over the weeks.
Scheduled to challenge Sol Ruca for the WWE Speed Championship at the PLE, Reid was pulled at the last minute due to an ankle injury suffered during training.
However, a hooded figure appeared later in the night to help Jacy Jayne retain the NXT Championship against Lola Vice, who many fans suspect could have been Reid (and WWE’s website even said it was before editing her name out).
Considering the recent departure of Jazmyn Nyx, this gives Lainey Reid the opportunity to get a prominent position in WWE NXT by being part of Fatal Influence.

5. Oba Femi Leaving WWE NXT

At WWE NXT No Mercy 2025, Ricky Saints defeated Oba Femi to win the NXT Championship.
Despite it taking four DDTs to defeat him, many fans found this result surprising and it could set the course for the landscape to change dramatically on NXT.
After dominating over WWE NXT for the past two years, it feels like Femi’s run on the brand could be coming to an end at any point now.
Triple H even specifically mentioned him as one of the company’s future stars during Wrestlepalooza weekend.

4. Ricky Saints As NXT Champion

Debuting in February, Ricky Saints arrived in WWE as a man on a mission, looking to quiet all his naysayers and doubters.
After capturing the NXT North American Championship just one month into his run with the company, Saints has gone on to bigger and greater things after defeating Oba Femi for the NXT Championship at No Mercy 2025.
Sitting at the mountaintop of WWE NXT, Saints will bring a totally different dynamic to the title picture than what Oba Femi or Trick Williams offered.
Now that he holds the NXT Championship, Ricky Saints could even undergo some character changes of his own with the title bringing out his more cocky instincts.

3. TNA Star Wins WWE NXT Gold

At WWE NXT Battleground 2025, Trick Williams defeated Joe Hendry to win the TNA World Championship and make history, becoming the first WWE contracted star to win TNA gold.
Then at TNA Slammiversary 2025, Jacy Jayne defeated Masha Slamovich to win the TNA Knockouts World Championship. And now even more recently, Kelani Jordan won the Knockouts Title at Victory Road.
After seeing three WWE stars come in and win their titles, it feels like it’s about time for the pendulum to swing the other way with TNA Wrestling talent winning WWE gold.
Whether it be Joe Hendry or Mike Santana, there are top TNA talents who deserve the chance to hold WWE championships and should get the opportunity in the coming weeks and months.

2. More TNA Talent Showing Up To Invade

On the September 23 edition of WWE NXT, TNA stars were popping up throughout the night until they showed up in the Performance Center and flooded the ring to attack the NXT locker room.
This sparked a full scale invasion for the TNA roster and a high profile show has already been announced.
On October 7, WWE will present the Invasion special where it will be NXT vs. TNA Wrestling to determine who is the better brand.
With certain tweets going out by the talent on the TNA roster, it seems like a certainty that WWE fans should get used to more TNA talent coming in on NXT TV.

1. WWE NXT Invasion

Speaking of the TNA Wrestling Invasion, it has led to a significant show being announced for the October 7 edition of NXT – WWE Invasion.
Seeing the return of this iconic PLE name, Invasion has already assembled a lineup that feels like a major show in every way possible.
There will be two five-on-five Survivor Series style Elimination matches – one for the men and one for the women – while The Hardys and DarkState will compete for both the TNA World and NXT Tag Team Championships.
