With injuries plaguing the upcoming WWE Night of Champions 2025 event already, there have been some changes already confirmed.
However amid confirmed changes, there are other opportunities to shift the event to make it even more entertaining that could be explored as well.
Here are six changes for WWE Night of Champions 2025.
6. Dominik Mysterio vs. AJ Styles Canceled

It was confirmed on the June 23 edition of WWE Raw that not only had Dominik Mysterio picked up an injury – the unfortunate turn of events would have an impact on an upcoming title match.
With the Intercontinental Championship match that Mysterio was set to have against AJ Styles at Night of Champions 2025 officially cancelled – more was separately reported about the injury.
According to Dave Meltzer, the injury is not so severe that the title would be vacated and rather that the Intercontinental Championship would be staying with Mysterio.
Mysterio isn’t the only Raw star out of action with Liv Morgan, Chad Gable and Zoey Stark all also currently sidelined due to injury.

5. Seth Rollins On Commentary

One change that WWE could make to Night of Champions 2025 would be to add in a little bit of threatening star power.
Since Seth Rollins is not set to appear at the big event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – there is certainly a match that could be hilarious to hear him on commentary.
If Rollins (plus the rest of his dominating faction, of course) were to pop-up to join commentary for the CM Punk vs. John Cena match – a very intriguing element could be added.
Aligning the characters of Rollins and Cena could tease a bigger chess move at play but moreover – Rollins adding some flair with an entrance and some sass on commentary would be a fun touch to the event.

4. Karrion Kross vs. Sami Zayn Added

Presumably since there was a match removed in Dirty Dom vs. AJ Styles, the June 23 edition of WWE Raw saw a new match be confirmed for Night of Champions 2025.
After continued backstage interactions, Sami Zayn will be set to take on Karrion Kross as the pair of fan favorites face off.
While Karrion Kross has been gaining support amongst some fans – particularly after his reality bending promo after WrestleMania 41 where he spoke harshly about his booking – it will be interesting to see the reaction of the Riyadh fans.
Typically beloved everywhere, Zayn has been particularly adored when he has appeared in Saudi Arabia – seemingly setting the stage for Kross to need some dastardly tricks to pull off a victory.

3. Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Rodriguez Added

Also confirmed as a new match to be added to the WWE Night of Champions card – a street fight between two bitter rivals.
Potentially serving as a replacement bout to what seemed to be a budding feud between Nikki Bella and Liv Morgan, the match may serve to set up a similar route forward.
With Rhea Ripley clearly still having beef with the Judgment Day – if she were to end up joining forces with Nikki Bella, perhaps the duo could challenge the pair of Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Since WWE Evolution 2025 is right around the corner – it would stand to reason that Ripley vs. Rodriguez could be setting up something even bigger.

2. Roman Reigns Added To King of the Ring Final

While Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes legitimately earned their spots in the final round of the King of the Ring tournament – Roman Reigns could be added as a spoiler at WWE Night of Champions 2025.
There would need to be some kind of storyline rationale for the move but even a flimsy excuse would work since the crowd would be thrilled to see Roman back in action.
Less thrilled of course would be the pair of Rhodes and Orton who would of course end up on the losing end of the bout.
Particularly if there were a controversial finish in 2025 that was reminiscent of 2024 whereby GUNTHER beat Randy Orton but with some question regarding whether Orton’s shoulders were truly on the mat – there could be some really intriguing future storylines built out from there.

1. Stipulation Added To United States Championship Match

There is set to be a WWE United States Championship match at Night of Champions 2025 pitting current champ Jacob Fatu against Solo Sikoa.
However, with so many potential interlopers in the match – it makes a lot of sense for a No Disqualifications stipulation to be added.
While on the surface the move would benefit Solo Sikoa – since he currently has backup in JC Mateo – since there are numerous other potential new associates for Fatu waiting in the wings – the moment could provide a big opportunity for a debut.
With the potential that Hikuleo could debut or the returns of Tama Tonga or Tonga Loa could impact the match – it would be good to just make the stipulation clear so no referee tumbles are necessary.
