Heading into WrestleMania 42, there has already been some notable babyface and heel turns in the weeks leading into the premium live event.
From Randy Orton turning on Cody Rhodes to Finn Balor being pushed into being a babyface after the betrayal of The Judgment Day, these character shifts have altered the landscape of WWE on the road to Mania.
With less than four weeks ahead of “The Show of Shows,” there could be some notable babyface turns that shift the way things are going on Raw and SmackDown ahead of “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”
Here are six potential babyface turns before WWE WrestleMania 42.
6. Tama Tonga

Over the past few months, Tama Tonga has broken out on his own as a singles star away from The MFTs.
Tonga has picked up some significant singles victories against the likes of Ilja Dragunov and Shinsuke Nakamura.
Meanwhile, Solo Sikoa and The MFTs have been haunted by The Wyatt Sicks after stealing the sacred lantern of the group on Friday Night SmackDown.
After calling out Sikoa in a backstage segment for his fragile mindstate, fans could see Tama turning babyface and breaking free from The MFTs in the weeks to come ahead of WrestleMania 42.
5. Kofi Kingston

In recent weeks, Kofi Kingston has been seen trying to convince Je’Von Evans to join forces with The New Day.
“The Young OG” has drawn comparisons to Kingston, which has led to the two men finding common ground.
However, Kingston’s attitude has rubbed Je’Von the wrong way, leading to him turning down the offer.
After Evans picked up a win over Grayson Waller on the March 23 edition of WWE Raw, Kingston may turn babyface and start to team with the 21 year old star sometime down the line.
4. El Grande Americano

The dynamics between The Original El Grande Americano and El Grande Americano have differed depending on the setting.
When these two characters interact in WWE, The Original El Grande is viewed as the babyface, while El Grande II is the heel.
Meanwhile, this alignment is flipped on its head in Mexico for Lucha Libre AAA where El Grande II is considered a national hero and babyface, while The Original El Grande is definitely the villain.
After getting some positive reactions from WWE crowds in recent weeks, it might be time for El Grande II to become a babyface in the United States like he is in Mexico right now.

3. Kairi Sane

Over the past few months, Kairi Sane has been subservient to her tag team partner and senpai Asuka.
The verbal and physical abuse that Asuka has inflicted on Sane has helped Kairi garner some sympathy from the fans.
Recently, IYO SKY has found herself trying to convince Sane that she does not deserve to be treated in this way by their former Damage CTRL stablemate.
With IYO playing the angel on her shoulder, Kairi could turn babyface and fight back against Asuka ahead of WrestleMania 42.
2. Trick Williams

Ever since getting called up to the WWE main roster, Trick Williams has been getting one of the loudest ovations of any star on the Friday Night SmackDown brand.
Despite firmly being a heel in his character work, Williams has crafted a strong connection with the fans due to his undeniable charisma and entertaining promo style.
From his superstar-like entrance to his appealing catchphrases, Williams feels like someone who the fans will inevitably force to be a babyface full time.
Trick turning babyface on the road to WrestleMania 42 could facilitate a double turn with his current rival Sami Zayn, who has been leaning more and more to the dark side in recent weeks.
1.Liv Morgan

Ever since she made her return at WWE Survivor Series 2025, Liv Morgan has been garnering cheers from the fans.
Despite being a heel and a member of The Judgment Day, Morgan is among the most popular female stars on the WWE roster today.
After winning the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble Match and in the midst of current rivalry with Stephanie Vaquer, the door has been cracked on Morgan potentially turning babyface.
Whether it be thanks to this feud with Vaquer or through leaving The Judgment Day, Liv could fully embrace the cheers of the fans and become a babyface before Mania arrives.
