Since MJF has departed from the AEW faction, the Hurt Syndicate — he could be looking to assemble a squad of his own.

While MJF is wildly popular with fans, a hallmark of his character is that he is generally despised by his peers although some have responded to bribery in the past.

Here are six AEW stars that could join a brand new MJF faction.

6. FTR

AEW faction The Pinnacle

There was a recent report that within backstage creative discussions, there may be some who are opposed to the Hurt Syndicate dropping the AEW World Tag Team Championship to FTR.

FTR remain in the tag team tournament to determine who will face the Hurt Syndicate at Forbidden Door and were favored to win — calling into question whether the report could be a potential red herring for an upcoming storyline.

With MJF seeming ousted from the Hurt Syndicate and his long history with FTR as former members of The Pinnacle, perhaps there is a swerve afoot.

FTR aligning with MJF on their road to not only capturing the tag titles, but in their future feud with Cope & Christian might end up being a reality.

5. Jack Perry

When he debuted in AEW as ‘Jungle Boy’, fans could have not have guessed that the squeaky clean star would end up as ‘the Scapegoat’.

With his latest iteration being a decidedly darker version of his loose cannon character, Perry hasn’t appeared in AEW yet in 2025.

Potentially finding a path forward if he were to return affiliated with MJF, the moment could be an opportunity to rebrand his character entirely.

Perhaps bonding over their shared Hollywood lifestyles — MJF was in Happy Gilmore 2 as he has noted profusely —the pair could bring out a fun side of one another.

In the curious case of another AEW star that has disappeared from TV, there has been some recent clarification about Wardlow.

While Mr. Mayhem has been off of AEW TV since March 2024, it was recently reported that Wardlow could potentially be free for a return soon.

After filming has wrapped on the re-boot of American Gladiators — also featuring fellow AEW star Kamille and hosted by WWE‘s The Miz — Wardlow still hasn’t return to TV.

With a complicated history with MJF, the return could lead to even more fascinating stories down the road if the backstory of how they became allied initially remained a mystery.

3. Kyle Fletcher

In his pursuit of regaining the AEW World Championship, MJF needs some additional muscle.

Luckily for MJF, Don Callis has made it perfectly clear in the past that he has no scruples with it comes to cash.

Therefore, it would be seemingly quit simple for MJF to recruit the brand new TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher into his new stable by way of significant payment.

With a simple storyline connection for why the Protostar would join forces with MJF — the duo of devilish heels would certainly be able to wreak havoc on AEW.

2. Austin Gunn

Although the Gunns just returned to AEW action, there was an unfortunate turn of events.

Since Colten Gunn has picked up and injury that will see him out of action — Austin Gunn could join forces with MJF’s new faction.

Able to sew seeds of potential feuds in the future for when Colten returns, Austin also would have the opportunity to showcase his singles abilities.

Building in a way for the team to stay on TV even while Colten is physically unable to compete, MJF would be wise to pick-up the Gunns for his faction.

1. Daniel Garcia

After failing to re-capture the TNT Championship at AEW All In Texas, Daniel Garcia is looking for his next challenge.

MJF may want to recruit allies but certainly could face a challenge locating peers that want to join his faction.

One way that he may end up being able to snag top talent is through some good old fashioned blackmail.

If MJF were to target Daniel Garcia (or any number of other unlikely allies like Roderick Strong, Bryan Keith, etc.) and demand their allyship by blackmail – there could be some enjoyable stories that spring forth.
