5 WWE Raw Stars To Move To SmackDown

On the Raw after SummerSlam SmackDown’s Randy Orton confronted new World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER and secured himself a big title match at WWE Bash in Berlin.

While Orton’s controversial loss in the King of the Ring finals back in May helped make this make sense, it does perhaps set a precedent that more stars could venture over to the opposing brand in the future.

When comparing Raw and SmackDown’s rosters there is a bit of an imbalance, with Friday night’s feeling considerably lighter in terms of upper mid-card and main event level stars.

Granted, Raw is a three hour show but perhaps some changes should be made to inject some new life into the blue brand.

So, with that said here are five WWE Raw stars who could make the jump to SmackDown soon.

5. Jey Uso

Whether it’s in an official capacity or not, we expect to be seeing ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso make his return to the blue brand very, very soon.

This is because, as you may know there is a bit of a situation over on Friday nights involving his family members that he may want to check in on.

Jey has enjoyed the hottest run of his career since breaking off as a singles act on Raw, but we all know that the company need to bring him back to The Bloodline narrative at some point soon.

With Roman Reigns back, and none of his OG Bloodline family around, it’s inevitable that the OTC looks to mend some fences and bring about a family reunion.

While Paul Heyman and Jimmy Uso shouldn’t be an issue, Jey is a different story. There’s some real kayfabe trauma there that needs ironed out. We do expect that to happen in the end though, with Jey then returning to Reigns’ side on SmackDown soon enough.

4. Kiana James

It has now been almost two months since we last saw or heard anything from Kiana James on WWE Raw.

After seemingly building an angle with Raw GM Adam Pearce in her first few weeks on the red brand, it seems like whatever they were building towards was dropped altogether at this point in time.

With her future on Raw unclear, perhaps a move to SmackDown or, failing that back to NXT may be a course of action worth taking.

Granted it’s difficult to lay out a clear path for her on SmackDown either, but things can’t exactly get more hopeless than they are right now.

3. Braun Strowman

It truly was great to see Braun Strowman make his long-awaited return to WWE TV in May after a lengthy injury layoff.

Since then though, what exactly has the Monster Of All Monsters had to do? Sure he’s feuded with The Judgment Day, which is a prominent spot – but it was never really seeming likely to lead anywhere big for him.

Now that The Judgment Day are entangled in their feud with their former members Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley, its time for Strowman to move on to something else, hopefully of substance.

The obvious move would be The Wyatt Sicks, but as of now there’s been no sign this is coming despite the obvious connection between the two sides. Hopefully we see that soon, if not a move to SmackDown may be a better course of action.

2. American Made

American Made – the official name of Chad Gable and The Creed Brothers may seem like a strange choice for this list admittedly.

But after The Wyatt Sicks handily dispatched them on WWE Raw, one must wonder how fruitful Gable and company’s feud with the newly debuting group is going to be.

The Wyatt Sicks need to be kept strong, which means American Made are gonna eat more losses should they continue their feud.

Considering Gable is already coming out the other end of a losing feud with Sami Zayn and GUNTHER before that, it’s about time he gets some wins, and that may not be coming on Monday nights, so a change may be required.

1. Sami Zayn

WWE star Sami Zayn

Jey Uso’s involvement with the Bloodline civil war on SmackDown seeming unavoidable, but the same can’t be said for Sami Zayn.

Sure, his unforgettable role as the Honorary Uce was many fans’ favorite story beat of the entire Bloodline saga, and if WWE opt to tap into that once again then we’d all eat it up. But it’s hard to say with full certainty that Zayn will re-enter the fold.

If he does however, he’s obviously going to need to move from Raw to SmackDown along with Jey Uso, but it’s not just The Bloodline that could tempt him over to Friday nights, there’s also his best friend Kevin Owens.

Owens and Zayn will forever be linked however, but if Zayn is coming back to join forces with Reigns don’t expect that to go down well with KO – who, based on SmackDown (August 9), is far from ready to welcome the OTC back to WWE with open arms.
