With WWE Night of Champions 2025 set to host the finals of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments, as well as John Cena vs. CM Punk – it’s shaping up to be a show to remember.
Adding to the excitement, Triple H could drop some big surprises on the fans in Saudi Arabia as the road to SummerSlam goes straight through Riyadh on June 28.
Here are five potential surprises for WWE Night of Champions 2025.
5. Ilja Dragunov Wins King of the Ring
When WWE unveiled the bracket for the men’s King of the Ring, fans’ curiosity was piqued by a mystery spot being left open in the first round match between Sheamus, Rusev and Bronson Reed.
Among the names who could potentially fill the spot is the currently injured Ilja Dragunov. Despite originally being estimated to be returning in the Fall of 2025, rumors have been mounting regarding an earlier return.
If it is in fact Dragunov who fills the spot then he must be among the favorites to win the whole thing, especially given that long-time nemesis GUNTHER is once again World Heavyweight Champion.
Fans will know for sure if Dragunov is even in the tournament on next week’s WWE Raw, so this is a potential surprise that is very much in the air until then.

4. Goldberg Returns
In late 2024 Bill Goldberg announced that he will be having his retirement match in WWE at some point in 2025.
While Goldberg may pop-up in advance of this event to actually compete in a match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – his return could also wait until the PLE.
With WWE hosting Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12 in Goldberg’s home of Atlanta, that seems like the more likely venue for his final match than in Saudi Arabia, but that match very well could be set up via an appearance from the Hall of Famer on June 28.
While he certainly could take aim at anyone on the roster, given the past tease with GUNTHER at WWE Bad Blood, there is some reasonable assumption that perhaps it is The Ring General who is “next” for Goldberg.

3. Bella Twins Reunite
The June 9 episode of Raw saw the WWE return of Nikki Bella – who had a less than pleasant back and forth with Liv Morgan which certainly seemed to suggest their bad blood isn’t over yet.
However, since Night of Champions is set to occur in advance of Evolution 2 – perhaps a singles bout at Night of Champions for Liv Morgan and Nikki Bella will lead to more.
Brie Bella returning to employ some twin magic in Riyadh, ensuring that Nikki picks up a victory over Liv could also set the stage for The Bella Twins to receive a future WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship shot.
The Bella Twins versus Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez at Evolution 2 would add a lot of star power to the event that currently has nothing concrete on the card.

2. Roman Reigns Returns
Since Roman Reigns hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since the WWE Raw after WrestleMania 41, it seems very likely that we won’t see The OTC again until at least the end of the month.
With Solo Sikoa’s new Bloodline squad is seemingly falling apart, Reigns could possibly find himself aligned with Jacob Fatu – however, it seems more likely that he will be turning his attention to a certain Mr. Money in the Bank instead.
Given the state that Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker left Reigns laying in when they last crossed paths on the Raw after WrestleMania 41, it seems safe to assume that he’s going to be gunning for them immediately.
Reigns returning and preventing a cash-in attempt from Rollins would be a moment few fans would forget, and set up some exciting possibilities heading into SummerSlam.

1. Naomi Cashes In The Money In The Bank Briefcase
With rumors that Jade Cargill will have a “big push” on the way to the upcoming WWE all female event, Evolution 2 – it seems that one detail is being slightly overlooked.
Naomi vs. Jade Cargill 2 could easily end up being a WWE Women’s Championship match at Evolution 2 if there are some hijinks in Saudi Arabia.
With a Cargill vs. Tiffany Stratton match potentially coming as soon as Night of Champions, Naomi could throw a big curveball into the match by joining it in the latter stages – and winning the entire thing much like Seth Rollins’ “Heist of the Century” at WrestleMania 31.
Putting the WWE Women’s Championship onto Naomi before and Evolution 2 showdown withJade Cargill would add huge stakes to their rematch and it’s certainly a distinct possibility.
