With stars like Ricky Saints, Jade Cargill and Blake Monroe already making the jump from AEW to WWE, other names could be set to follow suit.
From veteran legends looking to return to WWE to young stars that remain on the rise – there could be more AEW stars set to join WWE in the future.
Here are five former AEW stars that could join WWE.
5. Chris Jericho
As Jericho’s absence continues in AEW, chatter regarding his potential return to WWE at the end of his current contract continues.
Chris Jericho’s AEW contract is reportedly set to expire at the end of 2025, making him potentially available to re-sign with WWE in 2026.
With the first ever Royal Rumble set for Saudi Arabia in 2026, Jericho’s surprise return could be the ideal injection of nostalgic fun after the departure of John Cena in December.
Jericho has yet to comment directly on his plans for the future however has notably softened on previous comments regarding a potential return, most recently noting his ‘never say never’ perspective.

4. Paige (Saraya)
While probably best known for her previous run in WWE as Paige, Saraya was back to in-ring action in AEW.
Capturing the AEW Women’s World Championship, Saraya has since departed AEW but has never ruled out a return to WWE.
While she remains booked and busy- hosting her own Rulebreakers with Saraya podcast – fans continue to hope to see Paige return at some point in the future.
Potentially someone that could appear in a future Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant or even make a run-in to help an old friend – it would be great to see Paige in the ring again in WWE.

3. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen)
After losing the AEW World Tag Team Championship to the Hurt Syndicate back in January 2025, Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen didn’t return to AEW TV.
While the duo have reportedly seen their contracts come up with AEW, there has yet to be any official comments regarding their next moves.
With both members of the team capable of doing singles work in addition to the solid tag team efforts, the duo are rising stars to watch regardless of what company they end up in.
With reported interest from WWE in the tag team given their TV experience and well defined characters, it could be sooner rather than later that pair bring the party to NXT.

2. Billy Gunn
While Billy Gunn remains seemingly under contract with AEW – it would make sense for him to re-sign with WWE in the future.
Perhaps not keen to continue in a wrestling capacity, Gunn has a lot to contribute behind the scenes with a wealth of veteran knowledge.
Still able to compete however, Gunn could look to a return to WWE for a retirement run booked by Triple H or Shawn Michaels given his longtime friendship with both.
Potentially making an iconic on-screen authority figure in NXT, Gunn could be relied upon to get physical from time to time as well.

It has been reported that while Danhausen’s AEW contract was set to expire on August 1 but the company have elected to add time to the commitment, potentially related to time out of action due to injury.
The report notes that the contract keeps Danhausen locked in with AEW despite not being used “well into 2026”.
