With notable names like Wardlow and Darby Allin already having returned to AEW, there may still be more to come.
From stars that have been out of action due to injury to another reportedly delayed due to VISA issues – there could be some top names returning to AEW in the near future.
Here are five AEW returns that may be coming soon.
5. Eddie Kingston
One of AEW’s biggest personalities is fan favorite Eddie Kingston.
After being taken out of action due to a complex injury to his leg sustained during a NJPW match against Gabe Kidd – Eddie Kingston has been absent from AEW since May 2024.
However keeping fans updated on his journey, Kingston has made significant strides towards coming back stronger than ever.
While there still isn’t a return date reported for The Mad King, fans will be thrilled whenever he is back in AEW.

One return that is likely to be further into the distance is that of Jay White.
While the former NJPW star was originally taken out of action due to a broken hand sustained back in March, that injury has since healed.
However it has subsequently been reported that White is also dealing with a shoulder injury that will require surgery, putting his return timeline likely sometime in 2026.
Another Bang Bang Gang member Colten Gunn remains sidelined with a knee injury and has no specific timeframe for return.

In another curious case of an AEW disappearance, Jack Perry hasn’t been seen in AEW in 2025.
While he did make an appearance in NJPW and interact with the Young Bucks – he remains absent from AEW TV.
But all hope is not lost for fans of the former Jungle Boy as it seems there could be a path forward for the star yet.
After having seen his name recently flashed on-screen during an episode of the AEW companion online series, Being the Elite – perhaps Perry is on his way back sooner rather than later.

Hikaru Shida was last seen in AEW back in November 2024 however her disappearance from TV actually isn’t entirely mysterious.
Not out of action due to injury but rather related to VISA issues, Shida has continued to perform in Japan until having recently confirmed that she was able to return stateside. ‘
Having kept her in-ring skills sharp in her absence from AEW, Hikaru Shida seems prepared for battle upon her return.
Likely to make an impact on the AEW women’s division upon her arrival back into the fold, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the former AEW Women’s World Champion.
