WWE Draft 2025 Brand Switches

WWE Draft with Charlotte Flair and GUNTHER

With the 2025 WWE Draft reportedly approaching, new storylines and opportunities await several stars across the rosters of Raw, SmackDown and NXT.

The WWE Draft is always a bit of a reset button for creative, with plenty of stars on the roster that could benefit from a fresh start.

Here are eight potential WWE Draft 2025 brand switches that could shake things up.

Charlotte Flair

After making a big return at the Royal Rumble 2024, Charlotte Flair ended up on the losing end against WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania 41.

While WWE may opt to do a rematch between Flair and Stratton, or move her into a program with Alexa Bliss or Jade Cargill, a switch to Raw has the intriguing prospect of being paired with Becky Lynch – either as friends or foe.

With the pair clearly bringing out the best in one another – Lynch’s current heel persona could lend nicely to becoming on-screen pals with Flair yet again.

Able to leverage internet gossip about their history, a new dynamic duo of ‘Top Girl’ Charlotte Flair and ‘Hollywood’ Becky Lynch could be iconic.

Rhea Ripley

Rhea Ripley continues to chase IYO SKY and the WWE Women’s World Championship, but perhaps it is time for her character to get a new purpose on a different brand.

Having already dominated as Monday Night Mami for a number of years, the former WWE Women’s World Champion Ripley doesn’t have much left to accomplish on WWE Raw.

A switch to SmackDown could open up a new set of possibilities, including potentially picking up her feud with Giulia or even coming face-to-face with future more dastardly version of Alexa Bliss.

Rhea Ripley is a dominant force in any division but it is possible that her talents could be best used in SmackDown as a top babyface.

Austin Theory

It’s long been inevitable that Austin Theory and A-Town Down Under tag team partner Grayson Waller will be going their separate ways, and one simple way to break them up would be to just draft them to different brands.

With Theory due for a character shake-up for a long time now, switching brands would be the easiest way to give him a fresh start as a babyface or heel.

If he were to remain a heel, he could always join the growing group of #DIY and Candice LeRae to reform a new version of The Way – which could draw the ire of former member, Dexter Lumis and the Wyatt Sicks!

While that is an option, it seems more like Theory is due for a babyface run, with the opportunity there to pair him against John Cena once again, only this time with the heel and babyface dynamics reversed from their WrestleMania 39 meeting.

GUNTHER

On June 9, GUNTHER challenges Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship – which seems truly like a must-win for The Ring General. If he fails to dethrone Jey, which seems like the likeliest outcome he will be left rather directionless, at least on Raw anyway.

If John Cena wants to ruin professional wrestling – perhaps the actual final crucible for him to tackle is the Ring General, GUNTHER.

GUNTHER switching brands to SmackDown could prove to be a legitimate threat to John Cena’s current historic 17th world title reign and give fans an exciting first-time match on Cena’s Farewell Tour.

WWE could also set the stage for a Crown Jewel 2024 rematch between Cody Rhodes and GUNTHER, only this time it could be for the Undisputed WWE Championship if GUNTHER was able to do what Rhodes couldn’t… Beat John Cena.

LA Knight

LA Knight lost his United States Championship to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 41, and then failed to reclaim it at Backlash 2025.

Having already feuded with numerous stars on SmackDown, perhaps a shift to WWE Raw for LA Knight is the most logical next move.

One option is to have The Megastar attempt to step up to Seth Rollins and his growing faction – with Knight potentially starting up a group of his own to combat them.

Regardless of what path WWE take, Knight has been a part of the furniture on SmackDown for a number of years now – and a move to Raw may help him make the jump to the main event level that he seems unlikely to do on the blue brand.

Alpha Academy

Alpha Academy is a fun addition to WWE Raw but the group continues to flounder without their own purpose.

Currently serving as somewhat of a punching bag for Rusev since his return to the company, Akira Tozawa and Otis remain popular with fans.

With Maxxine Dupri having teased finding her more serious side when recently teaming with Natalya, perhaps the group is poised to make a fresh start on SmackDown.

The group could continue provide backstage stories, comedic relief and memorable match moments but just in a new way on Friday nights.

Pretty Deadly

The Raw roster in its current form really needs to pick up a couple teams from somewhere, with its ranks woefully smaller than SmackDown.

One potential brand switch to even out the two divisions would be Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson).

Able to bring their unique personalities and offense to an already eclectic division, their arrival could also make way for the departure of a less utilized team from Raw.

Sending Alpha Academy for a character refresh on SmackDown or even bringing the War Raiders over to the blue brand to continue their popularity – there are shake-ups to be made in the tag team division.

Tiffany Stratton

WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton

Bringing Tiffany Stratton to WWE Raw could reinvigorate the women’s division by creating some new potential feuds.

Stratton has already proven herself against the likes of Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax – moving to Raw and testing her abilities against Liv Morgan, Lyra Valkyria or even the returning Asuka would make sense.

Also after the WrestleMania 41 promo exchange between Flair and Stratton brought up the fact that Stratton is in a real-life relationship with Ludwig Kaiser to TV – the pair’s relationship being factored into storylines would be an interesting new direction.

Quite literally looking like a real life Barbie and Ken, the duo of Stratton and Kaiser could be WWE’s next biggest power couple – and definitely more than able to take on Liv Morgan and Dirty Dominik Mysterio!
