WWE’s insistence on hurting AEW is only hurting WWE
When WWE announced Worlds Collide for September 26, the same date as AEW All Out, in Chicago, the same city as AEW All Out, it quickly became clear why WWE chose to run the show on that date and location.
However, WWE running Worlds Collide in the same city had no effect at all on All Out, with the show still selling out despite WWE’s attempt to counterprogram the show.
Furthermore, WWE would respond to this by not even airing the show live, and instead opting to air it this Wednesday, at the same time as next week’s AEW Dynamite show.
This is far from the last time WWE has openly counterprogrammed an AEW show, and it certainly won’t be the last, but as time goes on, it continues to show that the only company hurt by these choices is WWE itself.
