A former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion has officially re-signed with TNA Wrestling, having joined the company earlier this year.

Known to WWE fans as Sonya Deville, the former Women’s Tag Team Champion would see her contract expire in February of last year, later revealing that she was retired ‘for now’.

Joining TNA Wrestling in January 2026, the star would be reborn as Daria Rae, becoming the on-screen authority figure, now serving as Director of Operations.

TNA Wrestling has now confirmed that Rae has signed a new deal with the company in a statement reading:

TNA Wrestling Director of Operations Daria Rae has re-signed with the company, it was confirmed today, as first reported by Fightful.

The charismatic authority figure, Daria is a key part of TNA Thursday Night iMPACT! every week on AMC and AMC+ (U.S.), Sportsnet 360 (Canada) and TNA+ (worldwide).

Since making a surprise debut on the premiere episode of TNA Thursday Night iMPACT! on AMC, Daria has shaken things up in TNA, going head-to-head with TNA’s Director of Authority, Santino Marella.

Speaking about why she loves being with TNA, in an interview earlier this year with The Sportster, Daria said: “There is more passion, heart, soul and pure talent in this company than I think, arguably, anywhere else in sports entertainment today.”

Following her TNA Wrestling debut, Rae revealed that many of the WWE women’s roster were “all freaking“, naming Nattie, Liv Morgan and Bianca Belair specifically.

Rae isn’t the only former WWE star to re-sign with TNA Wrestling, with Rich Swann also putting pen to paper recently.

‘For Now’

Daria Rae is far from the first retired wrestling star to caveat the end of their in-ring career with “for now”, leaving the door open for a return.

Just 32 years of age, there’s plenty of road ahead for a star with Rae’s history, not just in professional wrestling but also as a mixed martial artist. The two worlds combined, and it’s likely that she’s very much aware of exactly what it would take to get her to step back through the ropes once again.

A competitor in season six of WWE Tough Enough, the former Sonya Deville saw her journey take her through NXT to the main roster, with a Women’s Tag Team Championship reign alongside Chelsea Green.

Clearly just as comfortable when it comes to the character-driven aspects of wrestling as she is with the physical, it would be a surprise if Rae doesn’t get the opportunity to shed the business suit over in TNA Wrestling, particularly when Santino Marella has shown that he’s still able to compete.
