A WWE Hall of Famer has addressed their relationship with AEW owner Tony Khan after missing a recent show.
Ric Flair was set to appear on AEW Dynamite Blood and Guts earlier this month, but a health issue saw a change of plans.
The WWE Hall of Famer would apologize to the fans in attendance, thanking Tony Khan for the opportunity to appear.
He has now explored his relationship further during a recent interview with Casino Beats, with Flair noting that, under Khan, “wrestling is in a good place right now”, saying:
“Tony Khan is a really great guy. The guys over in AEW are great. Wrestling is in a good place right now.
“I can’t say enough good things about him. He is fantastic, and he is just a total gentleman, and I think he legitimately cares about everybody. They’re not just a number to him. I think he legitimately cares about everybody that works for him.”
Flair would then be asked about the difference of working in WWE of old and AEW of today, noting the time periods as a defining feature, stating:
“The difference between the two products at the minute is not just the technology, but it’s time as well.
“WWE/WWF has been around forever, and it’d be very difficult to overtake them. They have so much momentum, and now they have this new deal with ESPN. But I think it’s great for the business and for the guys that have an opportunity to work in other places as well.”
Flair also provided a health update on his torn rotator cuff, revealing that he might need additional treatment to tackle the injury.
