A TNA Wrestling star was fired from the company during the Thursday, January 29 episode of Impact.
For the first time in three years TNA’s Feast or Fired match concept made its return during last week’s Impact (January 22), with Steve Maclin, Eric Young, Eddie Edwards and the returning Trey Miguel claiming four briefcases that would either contain three championship match opportunities and one notice of termination from the company.
During last night’s Impact, all four men revealed what their individual briefcases contained, with Edwards receiving a TNA World Championship Match, Miguel a shot at the TNA International Title and Eric Young the X-Division Championship, leaving Steve Maclin to be the one fired from the company.
In reaction to the news, Maclin took to Twitter to express his disappointment at being let go, writing:
Well, this fucking sucks.
Been down this road before.

As well as messages of support from TNA stars such as Mike Santana and KC Navarro, Maclin’s wife and current AEW star Deonna Purrazzo would also pay tribute to to her husband, posting the following on Twitter:
The hardest worker, the humblest man.
Just shy of 5 years ago, you got a call you never expected to get. But with it came the opportunity to become everything you always wanted to be. And you DID.
You’ve always stayed true to yourself and your beliefs, and you give everything in every match to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
I know you’ll do the same in the next chapter. I can’t wait to stand by your side while you do it
Maclin joined TNA in 2021 after being released from his WWE contract in 2020 and would go on to become one of the most successful and prominent male stars of the last five years, winning the Impact World Championship in 2023 and two TNA International Championships in 2025.
We wish Maclin all the best in whatever he decides to do next in his career.
