‘It Came Off Fake’ – Michin Feels Her Presentation Is More ‘Authentic’ In Current WWE Run Compared To NXT & TNA Wrestling

WWE's Michin in NXT and now on SmackDown

Michin has explained why her presentation during her current WWE run feels more “authentic” compared to her time in NXT, and to a greater extent, TNA Wrestling.

In November 2022, Michin returned to WWE TV to join AJ Styles, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson in The O.C. and one year after she was released by the company.

While she did get a small taste of the main roster towards the end of her WWE tenure as a member of the much-maligned Retribution faction, Michin was able to return as herself for her second WWE tenure, and now finds herself in perhaps the highest position of her career, as she, along with B-Fab are aligned with former WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill.

During her appearance on What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon, Michin discussed joining the group after returning from a shoulder injury suffered in late 2025, and how she, Jade and B-Fab all stand out with their own individual styles within the group.

Michin said:

“Before, I just got out of an injury, so I’m like whatever I was doing before, that’s dead and over with and I guess I’ll just hope for the best and see what happens, we’ll see. That’s when they told me and B-Fab, ‘Hey you’re joining Jade.’ ‘Like Jade, the champion Jade?’

“Like even, we would take pictures together just backstage, just for us. We did a random backstage or promo or something and we took pictures afterwards, with our own style it still worked.

“A lot of people wanted us to dress the same, and Jade has her own style. Me, as a tom boy, baggy pants and a crop top and I’m good, sneakers. You ain’t gonna see me in heels, I’ll break my ankles. But Jade is doing all this stuff in stilettos and then you got B-Fab in thigh high heels looking fly.”

Stephanie McMahon would then praise Michin for upgrading her look from her time in NXT to now, leading to the SmackDown star responding:

“It’s all about just being authentic. I think it was just putting a mask on. NXT was me but I had to rev it up to the max, where it just came off fake.

“Now, I don’t have the wigs, I don’t have the blue hair, I can wear whatever I want and feel comfortable and not judged and that’s something me and the girls have talked about. If I wear the clothes that you guys wear it’s going to be obvious that I’m not comfortable.”

While she felt her NXT presentation didn’t accurately represent her true self, her spell in TNA, where she competed as ‘Jade’ was even further off the mark.

Having to wear short skirts and capture a “cutesy” aesthetic during that run, Michin recalled a specific incident which led her to swear off wearing “super sexy” stuff in the ring:

“In TNA I had to wear the skirts and being really cutesy with the dollhouse. It was a great experience but it wasn’t (me). I felt like I was wrestling in a clown suit.

“The reason why I don’t wear super sexy stuff anymore especially when I’m being physical because I remember in TNA, I still wrestled the same but I had to wear a skirt. I did a German bridge, and the match was great but then when I finished people were taking upskirt photos from just that part and ever since then I just felt violated. That’s not me anyways I’m just gonna stick with, I like the old school nineties, early 2000s, baggy pants like Aaliyah look.”

Circling back to her alliance with Cargill and B-Fab, Michin compared their group to nineties pop group the Spice Girls, due to them all bringing their own unique styles to the table:

“I told them listen I think our own old individual styles still work together. It’s like the Spice Girls, together we look great, but individually we still look great too. There’s no reason to change anything. Yeah we can still wear our own colours but let’s still wear our own stuff because it still works.”
