A WWE star has commented on his competitive friendship with Leon Slater, stating that they are always trying to one-up one another.
With a number of young stars making names for themselves on their respective shows, TNA X-Division Champion Champion Leon Slater and WWE Raw star Je’Von Evans are often compared for their abilities to produce unforgettable moments.
Speaking on the Chris Vernon Show, Je’Von Evans noted that he often tries to do something crazy in the ring after seeing Leon Slater do something impressive.
When asked about these viral moments, Je’Von Evans said:
“Honestly, we just do it. We just do something crazy and then we’ll all repost or hit each other up like ‘Yo, that was fire!’
“Then we try to one-up each other, especially me and Leon. Leon does something crazy, I’m like ‘Alright, I’m gonna do something crazier.'”

Evans and Slater have shared the ring on a number of occasions, notably facing off in singles action for Slater’s X-Division Championship at TNA Bound For Glory in October 2025.
More recently, the duo teamed together against then-WWE World Tag Team Champions AJ Styles & Dragon Lee at the December 2025 Saturday Night’s Main Event special.
Je’Von Evans qualified for the February 28 Elimination Chamber match, defeating GUNTHER and Dominik Mysterio in his qualifier on Raw.
