A former WWE star has officially retired from wrestling after competing in their final match at tonight’s TNA Genesis event.
Back in November, TNA star JDC (WWE’s Fandango) announced on an episode of TNA iMPACT that he would retire from in-ring competition at the TNA Genesis pay-per-view on January 17.
JDC’s final match took place on tonight’s Genesis pay-per-view, with him facing off against Eddie Edwards, his stablemate in the System faction on TNA television, with Eddie beating JDC in his final match.
JDC announced on this week’s TNA iMPACT premiere on AMC that his replacement in the System would be announced on next week’s iMPACT.
Fandango was released from WWE back in 2021 after he and Tyler Breeze had returned to the NXT brand, where they captured the NXT Tag Team Championship, the only title both men would hold in their career.
He made his official in-ring debut at WrestleMania 29 in 2013 against Chris Jericho, a match which JDC would call back to in his retirement match, locking in a Liontamer.
He made his return to NXT television last year through the partnership between WWE and TNA, with him facing off against Lexis King in a match for the Heritage Cup.
