Chelsea Green has opened up about fan reaction following WWE Unreal, which concluded its second season earlier this year.
The behind-the-scenes Netflix series saw a number of WWE names showcased, including Chelsea Green, who is currently sidelined through injury.
Speaking on WGN News, Green reflected on the support she has seen following season two of WWE Unreal, and how she feels fans are trying to make her a ‘top girl’ saying:
“It’s funny, I really didn’t expect it to change things, I think because we’re always filming at WWE. We’ve always got camera crews around us, so I didn’t act any different. It wasn’t a different day just because a Netflix camera was around.
“I felt a little bit of a change in season one, when people kind of started getting behind me. I felt like I was being recognized a little bit more in the airport or at Disney World, things like that, and then season two, it really changed.
“I felt so much love, and especially when I got into the ring for SmackDown, it was like everyone in the crowd had been watching Unreal.
“It’s almost like we’re rebelling against the machine, the machine being WWE.
“Everyone is like ‘Well you said she can’t be the top girl, so we’re going to make her the top girl with fandom.'”

Chelsea Green previously responded to the comments made by Michael Hayes on WWE Unreal, who had noted that Chelsea’s role was for her to ‘elevate’ the bigger stars in the company, and that she herself isn’t going to be featured at the top of the card.
In season one of WWE Unreal, a pitch was put forward that would have seen Chelsea Green win the women’s Royal Rumble match in a rather unique way.
