Former WWE Women’s Champion Candice Michelle has opened up about the possibility of an in-ring return after recently joining TNA Wrestling.

After her appearance in the audience at the TNA iMPACT premiere on AMC in January, Candice Michelle officially joined TNA Wrestling in March, as a backstage agent.

Speaking on The Wrestling History Channel, Michelle commented on the chances of her stepping back into the ring.

Noting that she’s both excited and terrified about the possibility, Candice Michelle said:

“I would be lying to say I’m not excited to get into the ring. I would be lying to say that I’m not scared and terrified to get into the ring. So how that unfolds is kind of what I’m working out.

“When I look at how good these women are, there are so many principles that come up, like can I be good enough? Can I do it at my age?

“All of the things that want to talk me out of it are coming up. It’s like a healing process to come back.”

Michelle also highlighted Steve Maclin’s recent in-ring injury as an example of something that has made her think twice about a wrestling comeback, following her own previous in-ring injuries.

Believing that it’d be crazier for her to let herself regret not trying to make a return, Michelle continued:

“I sometimes think I’m crazy to think that I’m going to get back in the ring. Can by back take a bump?

“I’m crazy to think like, do I want to hit the ropes, I’m probably going to have some rope burn because I haven’t done that in a while.

“I’m crazy to think like, will the people get behind me again? But I think it’s more crazy… I would regret never trying.

Michelle’s last full match took place at the December 2017 House of Hardcore Blizzard Brawl event, with the former Women’s Champion defeating fellow former WWE star Lisa Marie Varon (Victoria).

This was Michelle’s first wrestling match in over eight years, since losing to Beth Phoenix on the February 2, 2009 edition of Raw.

While she hasn’t wrestled a full match in over eight years, Michelle has technically won a championship during this hiatus, pinning Kelly Kelly in a backstage segment on the July 22, 2019 Raw episode to become the second woman to win the WWE 24/7 Championship.

She lost the gold that same night to Alundra Blayze.

A similar appearance in TNA Wrestling – where Michelle gets to perform one or two moves – would likely help alleviate some of her nerves about a full-on in-ring return.

Even if she doesn’t wrestle a full match again, it would be fulfilling all round to see Michelle make more on-screen appearances.
