AEW's PAC and Andrade El Idolo

Andrade El Idolo has addressed PAC’s tragic passing after competing against him in his final match at AEW All Out 2026.

The wrestling world was rocked on Sunday, September 27 when it was revealed that Benjamin Satterley, aka AEW star PAC, had died at the age of 40; less than 24 hours after wrestling at AEW’s All Out 2026 pay-per-view.

Tributes for “The Bastard” have been pouring in ever since from all corners of the industry, with WWE legend The Rock among the latest to pay their respects on social media.

Andrade El Idolo – who successfully defended his AEW National Championship against PAC in the opening contest of All Out – has now also taken to Instagram to address the passing of PAC for the first time.

In his message, Andrade said he thought PAC’s death “was just a rumor” upon being first contacted by WWE’s Penta – who was querying about the situation – however, after getting several more message and calls from other wrestlers, Andrade reached out to AEW’s offices, who confirmed that PAC had indeed passed away.

Paying tribute to PAC’s “incredible” in-ring talent and “big heart”, Andrade wrote:

I still can’t believe it! I was arriving home in Miami, having decided to take a break from social media for a day or two, when I got a call from Penta asking if I knew anything or if something had happened during the match. I told him, “I don’t believe what you’re telling me,” and he said, “I don’t believe it either.” We thought it was just a rumor, “Let’s hope it’s just a lie!” until I started getting messages and calls from wrestlers across various promotions, I spoke to the AEW office, and they confirmed the news was true.

It was something I never imagined! “He looked so good on Saturday, we finished the match, and Ben was happy about heading back to London soon to see his family.” I never imagined it would be his last match, we both knew we had more to give.

He was someone I always wanted to wrestle, and I enjoyed sharing the ring with him. He was such a special wrestler, he had it all and he always pushed me to give that little bit extra, he just kept getting better; every year, I’d ask myself, “ PAC is even better than before.” I remember Bandido gave him a Santos Laguna shirt on Saturday and We joked about how the colors looked just like Celtic’s.

My friend, you were incredible inside the ring nobody like you and outside of the ring You had a big heart! We were in so many of the same promotions at the same time but never faced each other (NJPW, NXT, WWE), and we only got to face off three times in AEW! I’m going to miss you,Amigo! Wherever you are now, sending you a huge hug!
I’ll never forget this match! Forever Pac

Per the Cook County medical office, PAC was found dead at around 4pm on Sunday in Des Plaines, Illinois, after being spotted unconscious in a rental car by a passerby who called 911. There were no signs of foul play or trauma, with his death not appearing to be suspicious.

AEW has confirmed that tonight’s September 30 episode of Dynamite will be dedicated to the memory of PAC, with a match between AEW World Champion Will Ospreay and Ricochet announced to take place on the show.
