On December 31, Chris Jericho’s AEW contract expires with recent reports indicating that he intends to leave the promotion.
With all signs pointing to this return, Jericho could be back in the company as soon as the January 5 edition of Monday Night Raw and should be a huge moment.
Wanting to give him a grand return, WWE could create a new faction for Jericho in a similar fashion to much of his AEW run.
Looking at the current roster, here are six WWE stars to potentially join a new Chris Jericho faction.
6. Rusev
Rusev made his WWE return in April 2025 after spending the past five years with All Elite Wrestling.
While the two men did not cross paths on television, Rusev and Chris Jericho worked with one another in AEW and could reunite in 2026.
With Jericho likely returning to WWE, he could create a faction that would need an enforcer, which is a role that Rusev could excel in.
Considering Rusev is not currently involved in current storylines on television, he could join forces with Jericho in his new faction to find a more prominent role in WWE.

5. Lexis King
Another former AEW star who went on to sign with WWE after their time in the company is Lexis King.
Signing with WWE in 2023, King immediately became a star on the NXT brand where he has won the Heritage Cup and been a consistent presence on the roster.
The former Brian Pillman Jr. could be someone else that Jericho recruits based on their time together in All Elite Wrestling.
Looking to give King a boost, Jericho could be the best way for the former AEW star to get called up to the WWE main roster in his possibly new stable.

4. Ethan Page
There is probably no one who has been elevated more by signing with WWE over the past two years quite like Ethan Page.
After leaving AEW, Page signed with WWE in May 2024 and quickly became one of the biggest stars on the NXT brand.
After holding the NXT Championship and North American Championship, it is clear that “All Ego” is more than ready for the main roster stage.
Page aligning with his Canadian brethren in Chris Jericho could make him an instant breakout star on WWE Raw or SmackDown in a potential group together.

3. Chelsea Green
Speaking of Ethan Page, he has created a partnership with a current main roster star in Chelsea Green.
Coming together based on their Canadian background, the duo have taken NXT and Lucha Libre AAA by storm with Page and Green winning the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships.
Considering both performers are double champions with Green holding the WWE Women’s United States Championship, Jericho trying to recruit the SmackDown star should be a no-brainer.
With her established character and undeniable charisma, Green could be a perfect match for Jericho and create some entertaining segments together on WWE TV upon his return.

2. Blake Monroe
Another former AEW star who Chris Jericho could potentially open the door to a WWE main roster call up for is Blake Monroe.
Signing with WWE in June 2025, Monroe quickly thrusted herself into the spotlight on the NXT brand.
The former NXT Women’s North American Champion spent two years in AEW with Jericho being someone who shared his knowledge and experience with her.
Jericho recruiting Blake Monroe would give him a rising star who could bring championship gold to his potential faction in the new year.

1. Kevin Owens
During his last WWE stint, Chris Jericho created one of his most memorable partnerships of his entire career with Kevin Owens.
Becoming unlikely friends and tag team partners, Owens and Jericho would deliver some of the most entertaining promos and segments in WWE at that time.
After their Festival of Friendship and subsequent rivalry, Jericho went on to go to NJPW and sign with AEW, while Owens has remained one of the biggest stars in WWE today.
While KO is currently out with a serious neck injury, Jericho could bring back his real life friend and give him an additional boost by working alongside him again to propel him to the WWE Title picture once more.
