With over 30 talents departing WWE in 2026 thus far, there is a healthy pool of potential new signings for a promotion like TNA Wrestling.
TNA has become one of the most popular landing spots for released WWE talent, and we’ve seen more evidence of that this year with the arrivals of Zoey Serrano (Zoey Stark) and Fabian Aichner (Giovanni Vinci).
After bolstering the men’s and women’s singles divisions, TNA seemingly look set to focus on their tag team division and are linked with a few former WWE teams.
Here are two former WWE tag teams that could potentially sign with TNA Wrestling.
Joseph Sawyer & Samuel Shaw (Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis)

Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy held the WWE Tag Team Titles for 196 days.
Earlier this week it was reported by The Takedown on SI that TNA Wrestling has “serious interest” in signing multiple members of former WWE faction The Wyatt Sicks.
At the time it was not known which names specifically were on TNA’s radar, however, a follow up report from PWInsiderElite revealed that it is Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw (fka Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis) who are set to join the company, potentially as soon as the promotion’s next set of TV tapings in Texas on September 24-25.
This time last year, Sawyer & Shaw were WWE Tag Team Champions, and held the gold for 196 days before dropping them to The MFTs in January. They have continued teaming on the independent scene following their April WWE release.
They have also been competing as singles competitors – with Sawyer currently holding the GCW World Title, and even recently successfully defending that title against Shaw at GCW’s No Signal in the Hills event on September 12.
Sawyer will be coming into TNA with no prior experience in TNA, but for Shaw it will be a homecoming of sorts, as he made his name in the promotion before getting his big break in WWE back in 2019.
There are plenty of creative possibilities for the duo in TNA. For one, Shaw has the opportunity to reunite with his former on-screen wife back in WWE NXT: Indi Hartwell – something that many fans would be overjoyed to see. There’s also the opportunity to work with fellow supernatural-leaning teams like The Righteous and The Broken Hardys; with plenty of opportunities for all involved to flex their creative muscles.
Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont
While they wouldn’t be arriving with as high of a profile as the former Wyatt Sicks, Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont could prove to be shrewd signings for TNA Wrestling.
TNA has not been afraid to pick up some of the less experienced names cut from WWE NXT; allowing them to continue working on TV and continue their growth as performers.
Elayna Black is one recent example, while Mara Sadé managed to build a great amount of momentum for her future career by spending a year in TNA.
Tyriek and Tyson are no strangers to TNA; becoming regularly featured parts of the roster in early 2025 and late that same year as The High Ryze. The pair even challenged The Hardys for the TNA World Tag Team Titles back at Final Resolution 2025.
Still free agents after being released in April, it was reported by Fightful Select in July that TNA were interested in signing the pair, but we have yet to see any further movement on the situation. However, given their availability this is one to certainly keep an eye on heading towards the end of the year.
