New WWE Tag Teams After WrestleMania 42

With WWE WrestleMania 42 nearly here, fans are already looking ahead to what could be in store for their favorites after the big event.

After the dust settles in the Las Vegas desert, there could be several new alliances formed as brand new tag teams join forces after WrestleMania season.

Here are six potential new WWE tag teams that could come together after WrestleMania 42.

7. Royce Keys & Ricky Saints

A pair that could find themselves uniting in WWE for the first time after WrestleMania 42 could be Royce Keys and Ricky Saints.

Already having a formidable run as tag team partners in AEW, the duo have yet to interact in WWE with Saints continuing his NXT run while Keys debuted on the main roster.

After Keys recently made his in-ring debut on SmackDown in a winning effort against Berto, he could definitely factor into the upcoming WrestleMania 42 weekend in a big way.

With Keys presumably set to enter the annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the SmackDown before WrestleMania 42, Saints could also see himself featured as well as it seems his time in NXT is wrapping up.

6. Tiffany Stratton & Maxxine Dupri

One dangerous and glamourous new duo that could join forces in WWE would be Tiffany Stratton and Maxxine Dupri.

Linking up to take in the first weekend of the music fesitval Coachella as documented on social media, the pair were also out and about with Chelsea Green.

Able to transition into a tag team together, the pair could end up becoming a major threat to the WWE women’s tag team division.

Able to take aim at teams like Nia Jax & Lash Legend as well as Jade Cargill and her squad of Michin & B-Fab, the babyface alliance could be a perfect reboot for both.

5. Zilla Fatu & Solo Sikoa

While there could be an exodus brewing within Solo Sikoa’s MFT faction, perhaps Solo will pick up a new member from outside of the company in Zilla Fatu.

With Tama Tonga originally missing the April 13 edition of WWE Raw while the rest of the squad was in action against LA Knight and The Usos, Solo was noticeably upset about the situation.

However when Tonga finally did arrive at ringside, he seemingly cost the MFTs the win after his arrival distracted Tonga Loa and LA Knight was able to capitalize with a BFT.

The MFTs are set to take on the Wyatt Sicks on the SmackDown before WrestleMania 42 in an eight-man street fight, possibly leading to the perfect moment for a new signee in Zilla Fatu to step in to an important role.

4. Tama Tonga & Shinsuke Nakamura

One intriguing series of backstage interactions as of late in WWE has been the simmering tension between Shinsuke Nakamura and Solo Sikoa’s faction, The MFTs.

After Nakamura has recently become a catalyst to encouraging Tama Tonga to go his own route rather than stay united with the MFTs, perhaps the duo will link up.

Able to reference their time in NJPW, the duo could end up becoming major players for the WWE Tag Team Championship, and their union could end up putting them at odds with the MFTs.

While there continues to be plenty of intriguing tag teams on SmackDown, the technically savvy duo could end up going on a solid run together.

3. AJ Lee & Roxanne Perez

While Liv Morgan continues to feud with Stephanie Vaquer, it could be that her alliance with Roxanne Perez is coming to an end soon.

Certainly in need of some backup on WWE Raw, it could be a fun partnership to see Perez both turn babyface and also unite with one of her childhood heroes in AJ Lee.

With the duo able to challenge any number of popular teams for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, there could be plenty of exciting matches ahead.

With Lee & Perez able to unite against the likes of Judgment Day partners Raquel Rodriguez & Liv Morgan, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss or even the Bella Twins, there could be major moments made by this intergenerational pairing.

2. Joe Hendry & Cody Rhodes

When looking at all of the most beloved babyfaces in WWE, one standout that hasn’t yet hit the main roster is former NXT Champion Joe Hendry. Potentially serving as a key ally for Cody Rhodes moving forward, introducing Hendry onto the main roster as a friend of the American Nightmare could be a solid move.

With the storyline seemingly perfect for the return of Kevin Owens to in-ring competition, it remains to be seen if the Prize Fighter will make his presence known at WrestleMania 42.

With a notable history with Randy Orton, it was actually last year’s WrestleMania 41 that was meant to host Orton vs. Owens. Possibly reuniting on-screen this year, it could be that Cody has no choice but to find some new friends and fast.

Perhaps the perfect partner for Rhodes, Joe Hendry could contribute his wholesome, babyface qualities to the fight for the direction of WWE that seems to be breaking out with Team RKO.

1. Lucha Brothers

With both Rey Fenix and Penta in WWE on the main roster, it would make complete sense to see the duo come back together in their Lucha Brothers tag team.

Competing throughout their careers in tag team action across promotions including their time in AEW, it could be that if Penta doesn’t leave WrestleMania 42 with the Intercontinental Title, he may decide to do something different entirely.

While the duo have united already in AAA – although their reunion match was canceled due to an injury to Penta – they have yet to make their tag team debut on the main roster in WWE together.

Certainly able to pivot from the last year of singles competition to dominate the tag team scene, it could be either WWE Raw or SmackDown that hosts the legendary team.
