On the September 15 edition of WWE NXT, AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina made a surprise appearance to confront NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan.
Following this shocking debut, there could be some interesting plans for Catalina moving forward.
From facing reigning NXT champions to major matches for upcoming premium live events, Catalina should be someone that fans are watching closely moving forward.
Here are some potential La Catalina future plans following her WWE NXT debut.
Facing Roxanne Perez at WWE AAA Worlds Collide 2026
At WWE AAA TripleMania 34 Night One, Roxanne Perez defeated Nattie, Faby Apache and La Hiedra to become the number one contender for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship.
Then at TripleMania 34 Night Two, La Catalina beat Flammer to win the Reina de Reinas Title.
Thanks to these two victories, Catalina will now defend the gold against Roxanne Perez at WWE AAA Worlds Collide 2026.
Pitting two of the young stars in the WWE and AAA women’s division, Catalina and Perez should give a glimpse at the future in Chicago.
Teaming with Thea Hail against Kelani Jordan and ZARIA
La Catalina showed up on the September 15 WWE NXT and immediately confronted NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan.
This brought out NXT Women’s North American Champion ZARIA to also state that she was the true dominant champion out of this trio.
However, Thea Hail then interjected herself, leading to a brawl with her and Catalina standing tall over ZARIA and Kelani.
This will now lead to Catalina teaming with Hail to face Jordan and ZARIA on the September 22 episode of WWE NXT.
Champion vs. Champion match against ZARIA
After the confrontation on the September 15 WWE NXT, there could be a showdown between La Catalina and ZARIA down the line.
During her appearance, Catalina stated she wants to take NXT to the next level.
Now that she has arrived, “La Diva del Ring” could be getting ready to clash with the different champions on NXT.
Catalina facing off with ZARIA in a champion vs. champion bout would make for a tantalizing dream match on a major event in the near future.
First time meeting with Kendal Grey
Over the past year, Kendal Grey has established herself as a top star in the NXT women’s division.
After making a name for herself as the Evolve Women’s Champion, Grey went on to become the Iron Survivor and then eventually winning the NXT Women’s Championship.
Now that there is a new face in the WWE NXT women’s scene, Grey could be seen as a gatekeeper for someone like La Catalina to collide with.
Catalina proving herself against Kendal Grey would be interesting and give fans a clash between two of the brightest stars in women’s wrestling today.
Challenging Kelani Jordan for the NXT Women’s Championship
Following their confrontation on the September 15 WWE NXT, it seems clear that La Catalina could be on a collision course with NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan.
Jordan has stated that she plans on proving herself as a fighting champion now that she has the gold.
As the reigning AAA Reina de Reinas Champion, Catalina could put a bigger spotlight on the promotion.
Catalina challenging Kelani could make for a great showcase of the women’s division at an upcoming premium live event like WWE NXT Halloween Havoc 2026.
