On the January 14 Maximum Carnage special of AEW Dynamite, Kenny Omega will make his return to All Elite Wrestling for the first time since the Holiday Bash in December.

With Omega being one of the biggest stars in the company, it should be very interesting to see how AEW brings him back into the fold.

Whether it be following through on his new direction, or finishing issues left unsettled from 2025, there are many intriguing possibilities to go in for “The Cleaner” upon making his comeback to the promotion.

Here are six potential Kenny Omega AEW return plans.

6. Confronting The Winner Of MJF vs. Bandido For AEW World Title

MJF and AEW Dynamite Diamond Ring winner Bandido

On the New Year’s Smash special of AEW Dynamite, Kenny Omega appeared on the big screen to call out MJF and let him know that he has his sights firmly on the AEW World Championship.

On the January 14 Maximum Carnage edition of AEW Dynamite, MJF will defend the AEW World Title against Dynamite Diamond Ring winner Bandido.

With this huge title bout announced, it would not be surprising to see “The Cleaner” to be focused on who comes out as the winner.

Omega coming out to confront the winner of Maxwell Jacob Friedman vs. Bandido could set the stage for the former AEW World Champion coming back after the gold in the near future.

5. Josh Alexander Attacks

While Kenny Omega has his focus on the AEW World Title, it does not mean that certain individuals will not have their attention on his every move.

One person who has drawn the ire of “The Best Bout Machine” over the past few months has been Josh Alexander.

“The Walking Weapon” has gone out of his way to get Omega’s attention by taking out and injuring his friends Kota Ibushi and Michael Nakazawa.

To make sure that Omega does not forget about him, Alexander could lead a Don Callis Family assault on “The Cleaner” upon his return at AEW Maximum Carnage 2026.

4. Helping The Young Bucks Become #1 Contenders For AEW World Tag Team Championships

The Elite Young Bucks

Back at AEW Full Gear 2025, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks reunited after months of being at each other’s throats to fight against The Don Callis Family.

Then at the December 17 Holiday Bash edition of AEW Dynamite, The Elite defeated The Don Callis Family to win $1 million.

After fighting alongside each other again, Omega could have Matt and Nick Jackson’s backs as they compete in a four way against Gates of Agony, The Don Callis Family and JetSpeed to determine who gets a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Titles.

With the likes of Ricochet and Don Callis at ringside, Omega may need to have The Bucks’ back to help them walk out with the victory.

3. Unfinished Business With Kyle Fletcher

On the road to AEW All Out 2025, Kyle Fletcher took out Kenny Omega with a vicious Sheer Drop Brainbuster off the apron through a table.

Upon returning to All Elite Wrestling, Omega did not address this issue with “The Protostar,” who was busy as the TNT Champion at the time.

However, Fletcher is no longer the champion and could be confronted by Omega, who might be looking for some revenge.

Omega and Fletcher settling the score once and for all could be the best way for “The Cleaner” to reinsert himself in the AEW World Title picture and finally close the book on his feud with the Don Callis Family.

2. Reunion With “Hangman” Adam Page & Swerve Strickland

While Kenny Omega made it clear that he wants the AEW World Championship, there are other potential contenders coming after MJF.

After Omega staked his claim for a title shot at New Year’s Smash, “Hangman” Adam Page and Swerve Strickland also came out looking to get their opportunity at MJF’s gold.

Omega is no stranger to either Page or Strickland, having teamed with both men in the past.

In a reunion of sorts, Omega could be confronted by “Hangman” and Swerve, looking to set up a battle to determine who will be next in line for a shot at the top prize in All Elite Wrestling upon his return.

1. A Showdown With Andrade El Idolo

Kenny Omega and Andrade El Idolo on AEW Dynamite

Back at the October 1 Sixth Anniversary edition of AEW Dynamite, Andrade El Idolo made his return to the company by attacking Kenny Omega and joining forces with The Don Callis Family.

However, El Idolo was removed from AEW television due to WWE sending a cease and desist, looking for the former star to honor a one-year non-compete clause.

Following a resolution in the manner, Andrade made another return on the January 7 edition of AEW Dynamite and reunited with The Don Callis Family once more.

Now that he is back in the promotion, it would make a ton of sense for Andrade to confront the returning Omega, looking to settle this issue started several months earlier at AEW Maximum Carnage 2026.
