Jon Moxley Babyface AEW Plans

At AEW Worlds End 2025, Jon Moxley defeated Kyle Fletcher and then Kazuchika Okada to win the 2025 Continental Classic tournament.

Capturing the AEW Continental Championship, Moxley cut a babyface promo dedicating his win to The Death Riders, the participants in the Continental Classic and the fans.

Following this apparent turn, Moxley could go in several different storyline directions over the next few weeks and months.

Here are six potential Jon Moxley AEW babyface plans.

6. The AEW Continental Championship Open Challenge

Now that he has won the AEW Continental Championship, Jon Moxley had his Death Riders stablemates proudly hold up the title belt in contrast to how he trapped the AEW World Title in a briefcase for 10 months.

Wanting to establish himself as a fighting champion, this should lead to an interesting direction to go with Moxley as the new titleholder.

Having Moxley introduce an AEW Continental Championship open challenge would elevate the title in a similar fashion to what fans have seen with the WWE United States Championship.

Moxley defending the gold against lesser featured stars on the AEW roster will not only bolster the Continental Title scene, but also provide a spotlight for those lower on the card moving forward.

5. Going After MJF’s AEW World Title

MJF wins AEW World Championship at Worlds End 2025

At AEW Worlds End 2025, MJF defeated Samoa Joe, “Hangman” Adam Page and Swerve Strickland to win the AEW World Championship.

This marked the second world title win for Maxwell Jacob Friedman after his historic 406-day reign two years prior.

MJF’s first title run started with Friedman defeating Jon Moxley for the gold at AEW Full Gear 2022.

Now that MJF has the top prize in the company again, it could be Moxley who needs to save the title from the evil tyrant at the top of the promotion like he once was.

4. The Death Riders Turn On Jon Moxley

The Death Riders turning on Jon Moxley is the most obvious option to go with following Mox’s babyface turn and victory in the Continental Classic tournament.

During his victory speech at AEW Worlds End 2025, the rest of the Death Riders looked somewhat baffled at Moxley dedicating his win to them, the Continental Classic participants and the fans.

After weeks of teasing, it seems like the right time for The Death Riders to finally betray Moxley and go against their former leader.

Moxley feuding with The Death Riders could become one of the most significant rivalries of 2026 for All Elite Wrestling.

3. Feuding With The Don Callis Family

To get the win in the Continental Classic tournament, Jon Moxley had to beat Kyle Fletcher and Kazuchika Okada of the Don Callis Family.

Elsewhere in the tournament, Moxley dropped one of his two losses in the Blue League action to another Don Callis Family member in Konosuke Takeshita.

Ahead of the C2 Final, Don Callis stated that he wanted to get revenge on Moxley for his screwdriver attack from back in 2023.

After losing the Continental Classic, Don Callis Family could target the new AEW Continental Champion and lead to a full-on faction war with Moxley and The Death Riders.

2. Reigniting Rivalry With Samoa Joe & The Opps

Another faction that has had their issues with Jon Moxley and The Death Riders was The Opps.

Back in April 2025, Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs defeated The Death Riders to win the AEW World Trios Championships at AEW Dynamite: Spring BreakThru.

Now months later, Joe and The Opps are now hated heels, while Moxley seemingly turned babyface with his win in the Continental Classic.

With their roles being changed before our eyes, it could bring a whole new dynamic to the rivalry between The Death Riders and The Opps in the new year.

1. Showdown With Bobby Lashley & Hurt Syndicate

AEW stars MVP, Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley

One stable that Jon Moxley and The Death Riders have never encountered throughout the past two years is The Hurt Syndicate.

Since arriving in All Elite Wrestling, Bobby Lashley, MVP and Shelton Benjamin have run roughshod over anyone and everyone in front of them.

Whether it be in tag team, multi-man or singles competition, Hurt Syndicate have not backed down from any challenge and have been looking to capture any gold they can.

While Bobby Lashley is reportedly out of action with injury, once he’s healed we could see he and Moxley lock horns to set up a full on war between The Hurt Syndicate and Death Riders.
