With several WWE characters potentially on the verge of a major character shift, there could be more than one star that turns heel at WrestleMania 42.
From turns that have been teased already, to others that could come out of nowhere — WWE WrestleMania 42 could certainly be a pivotal show for many babyface stars.
Here are six potential heel turns at WWE WrestleMania 42.
6. Damian Priest

Damian Priest and R-Truth won the WWE Tag Team Championships on the March 20 episode of SmackDown, defeating The MFTs
One star that has had to face the recent crucible of the heel-making Aleister Black is Damian Priest.
After Black’s bad influence has seemingly gotten to both Randy Orton and Sami Zayn as of late, it could be that Priest is the next to fall.
While his tag team with R-Truth is going to be a lot of fun in the short run, it feels inevitable that Priest ditches the veteran in order to pursue major singles success once again.
Given how beloved Truth is, Priest attacking him would immediately establish him as a hated heel on WWE SmackDown.
5. Tiffany Stratton
Another star that fans are expecting to see a shift from sometime soon is Tiffany Stratton.
With some uncertainty about the role for Tiffany Stratton on the card for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, there could be a big moment in the lead-up to the event.
Certainly able to involve herself in any number of matches and end up playing a pivotal role, it would be fun to see Stratton return to her NXT roots.
Leaning into her entitled former persona that was far more bratty & catty than it was pleasant, it could be “Tiffy Time” in a brand new way after Las Vegas.
4. Sami Zayn
One slow burn heel turn that has been on the way for the past few months is Sami Zayn.
After besting Carmelo Hayes for the WWE United States Championship in a bout that certainly included some questionable tactics from Zayn, it is clear that his desperation has reached a new high.
If he were to lose at WrestleMania 42, there could certainly be a brand new unhinged version of Zayn that becomes unlocked.
Or even more interestingly, Sami Zayn could turn heel in order to secure victory, sending him on a collision course with one of SmackDown’s top heels.
3. Alexa Bliss

Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss first teamed together on WWE TV on the June 30 episode of SmackDown
While the alliance between Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss has continued far longer than originally anticipated, it could be that a betrayal will break them apart at WrestleMania 42.
With a big opportunity to regain their WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 42, it would make sense to see a loss in the big Las Vegas bout lead to a breaking point.
While Flair has always seemed the likelier to turn, a better route may be for Alexa Bliss to put a knife in the back of “The Queen,” tapping into her inner darkness for the first time in years.
With Alexa Bliss able to be the one to strike first, it could still cast Flair in a sympathetic light with an inevitable feud between the two certain to be exciting.
2. Rhea Ripley

RHIYO (RHEA RIPLEY & IYO SKY) held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles for 53 days in 2026
While Rhea Ripley is set to go to war with Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42, Cargill has backup in her new stable including Michin & B.Fab.
A loss at WrestleMania 42 could have an immediate impact on “The Eradicator,” particularly if some interference was involved.
Crashing out in spectacular fashion and potentially even attacking her long-time friend IYO SKY, the heel turn could align nicely with the aforementioned turn of Damian Priest.
With both former Judgment Day members potentially coming back together to wreck some havoc, a Terror Twins reunion could be amazing.
1. Jelly Roll
While fans may groan at the possibility of even more celebrity involvement in a major angle at WrestleMania 42, it feels inevitable that Jelly Roll will make his way back to WWE for some revenge on Randy Orton.
The country star was laid out with an RKO on the March 27 episode of SmackDown and was absent from the following week’s show, where Pat McAfee revealed himself to be Orton’s mystery caller.
With Rhodes outnumbered by Orton and McAfee, it seems likely that Jelly may come back and even the odds. Or will he?
In what would make for surprise conclusion to WrestleMania 42, Jelly Roll could betray Rhodes in order to gift Orton his 15th world title. Again, the decision for celebrity involvement in yet another WrestleMania main event likely wouldn’t be received too well, but it’s certainly a possibility.
